Invited 12/26/23 late pm
Configured and ordered 12/27/23 early am with Carlsbad, CA Delivery Request
VIN 0028XX assigned 3/7/24
Delivered to San Diego Miramar 3/11/24
Received no emails or texts to let me know VIN was assigned, just got lucky checking my app that day (3/7/24); app asked me to sign new additions to my contract, which I did. Then VIN was there, like magic. I added the insurance step (adding CT to my existing Mercury policy was cheaper than Tesla insurance) and confirmed full cash payment and no trade-in. The delivery center called me Sunday, 3/10/24 and said vehicle had arrived and would be ready as early as 3/11/24. I scheduled delivery for 3/11 at 4:30pm and worked on payment through the app. I tried to make final payment 3/11 at 5am and app rejected the payment and said declined. Waited until after 9am business hours, declined again. Got worried because the account was funded, and I didn't want to go to the bank for a cashier's check. Ugh. So, I removed the bank account entirely from my Tesla app and also from the CT payment step. I added bank account again from scratch through Plaid payment process, and it showed the latest info. I then added the bank account again (same process) to the CT payment step, and it seemed to load nicely. I hit PAY in the app, held my breath, and the payment sailed through. I recommend to delete and re-enter your bank account if you experience the same "declined" issue I had. Relieved, I waited patiently all day for my appointment, knowing all the steps were done. Some say to wait and provide final payment after you see the CT, but I knew I was taking it no matter what, so I was happy to send final payment sight unseen. The reveal was amazing and the CT is incredible. No issues whatsoever with the finish or interior; no rail rust or dust, it was detailed beautifully. Driving it home through I-5 North San Diego rush hour traffic was like a video game and the 15-speaker sound system only added to the experience. Kids and adults texted from all over the neighborhood immediately after we drove through. He's resting comfortably in the garage now, and friends are already lining up to see it tomorrow. My daughter is doing her homework in the back seat; she says it's warm and she loves him. Hang in there, everyone. When your time comes, it happens fast and it's well worth the wait. Cheers!
