Finished final payment in cash, which honestly did not feel right, but it seems like that’s what people are doing. I wonder how long until delivery?

I have a family vacation planned at the end of March… my luck is that’s when they want me to take delivery! But since I already paid and I own that VIN they can’t give to someone else I assume? I am super excited, but a little anxious with the timing of the vacation.

When you say you finished final payment in cash, do you mean you submitted a final payment already before getting the CT, or you just selected cash? When did you select cash?

Once the truck is delivered you have 72hours to pick it up or it will go to someone else.
You can google "Tesla owner misses out on delivery while in Europe on vacation" and you will get a big list of results, also some members of this forum have mentioned it.

I literally paid in cash. As in they have already taken the money from my account. It did say you must make final payment now or risk your order being delayed. I didn’t feel right about it, but went against my instincts and did it anyway. Logically the worst that could happen is the VIN is damaged during transport and they would be required to repair it. But maybe there are other worst cases?

I know about that email. I got it about 3 days ago but I couldn’t get my bank to give me a check without a VIN so I financed with Tesla even though they told me I didn’t have to. I didn’t want to take any chances. Congrats. Maybe I’m close. When did you get the update on your app about not delaying the process and making payment?

I did not get any email from Tesla. I just opened the app and it said you have pending items blah blah. Then in the pending items was make final payment(with the disclaimer about delaying). Just spoke to Tesla and the truck is 4 hours away in riverside. Rep told me to expect delivery within 7 days.

Yes that’s what I meant the app. Same with me. I got that same message at 1:30am Thursday morning. When did you get yours? I still don’t have aVIN. Maybe you are an indicator of when my VIN mid get assigned. Plus I’m in California picking up in Irvine

Congrats, they extracted my final payment from my account Jan 9th after a 12/28 order. I still don’t have a vin yet. When I called a few days after I noticed and asked them to return the money until delivery they said my only two options were to cancel and re order over again or wait it out.

They say do everything to not delay delivery. Every Tesla I’ve owned I paid on delivery day. They want you to do everything early but you’re not required to pay. My delivery was delayed longer than most but it wasn’t because my tasks weren’t completed. It was on their end.

Copy Celi. Thanks. I just didn’t want to take any chances. That’s why I went with Tesla financing but I went to Irvine today again, and confirmed all I’ll have to do is tell them that I’m going with my bank when they call to set up delivery. First I need a VIN Lol.
