Very sad with delivery. Checked the vehicle, went inside, guy asked if I did all the app stuff, and said enjoy. I said what about these horrible scratches and he said "Let me see if they can do anything" came back and said they can't fix anything, and just come back later. I took possession but later found tears in the dash and more bad scratches. Will Tesla make this right? Should I return this unnecessary purchase?

Don't think you can return it. All you can do is bitch to them to try to get them to fix it. The 2 week return option has been gone for a long time.

This is my fear. I won't pay the final amount until I accept delivery. If I show up to what you got handed, I'll refuse delivery.

I'm not sure that's exactly true. I believe one has 7 days or 100 miles.

I wouldn't have taken the vehicle without it being fixed. While the number will be small (?3000) for Q1 2024 deliveries, I can't help wonder what else they'll get some sucker to take before the quarter ends. At this point I'd give Tesla 2 weeks to fix everything or ask permission to resale the vehicle.

Can always reject a Tesla, you're not required to take possession.

I don't know that it would bother me., but I took possession of a Model S Plaid with a nail in the driver's side rear tire (they got me in for service two days later and replaced it) and low tire pressure warnings while it was sitting in the lot for me to take delivery. Odd they didn't discover it on pre-delivery inspection. Unless....they don't do pre-delivery inspections.

It is a truck and should accumulate many more scratches and tears in the miles ahead. But you're spending the money so if you're not happy then don't accept it. Not really a big deal, it is just a vehicle and Tesla will be putting hundreds of thousands of them, if not more, on the road in the next couple years.

No, the return option is gone. 7 days or 100 miles is to report issues for them to fix (which they may or may not do).
You may be able to force Tesla to abide by their "no resale" clause. They say they will subtract 25 cents per mile. Or, maybe they will let you sell it...I haven't heard of anyone actually asking permission..you never know.

mine has a scratch on the driver window and I never noticed until someone told me. There could be other things but I just don’t care. My plan is to get this thing filthy! I have plenty of things that will scratch the hell out of it.

How are people acting like this is okay?

Just because it's a truck doesn't mean you should get it messed up.

Just because they will likely fix it doesn't mean it should come busted.

Just because it's hard to get doesn't mean you should have to take whatever they give you.

This is why we are paying 20k early tax still, because people are willing to do whatever to have the truck.

OP, I have bought a few Teslas and they always fixed the stuff I tell them about right away. Idk how returning would work but you already made it this far. Just get them to fix it. Once you get it where you want it you won't consider returning it anymore. I'm sure
