Did a very quick road trip to Klamath Falls Oregon to see lava beds in California. Truck did great. It was me and my 2 young kids. Netflix was handy for much of the trip, although I wish there was a download video option I could do on Wi-Fi, as we hit some spotty areas. I ended up using my phone hotspot (Verizon) in some areas that the truck lost the connection.

Ended up at 750 miles 465 wH/mile average (Trip B), which is a lot higher than my 390 wH/mile average before this trip for around town and highway driving to work. It's probably because I averaged around 75 mph the way there and maybe closer to 80 on the way back. My only time I was cautious on range was to lava beds and back towards Redding, since there were no chargers out there. But it was fine when I turned sentry mode off.

Nice trip. That efficiency is a bit lower than I'd have hoped.

Nice to have a destination charger there, some parks are going to be out of reach for the CT due to range issues but when there is a working destination it helps.

Have not been out there in many years but was a special place.

Yea last time I went my son was 6 months old so it was a bit harder. Now they are 6 and 8 I think they got to enjoy it. Stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Klamath Falls, and they had a couple chargers there. I was worried someone would unplug me at night, but got a full 12 hours of charging at 32 amps to get full again.

If I was driving my usual 65-70 it would have been better. But the speed limit was 70 much of the way here and I was trying to get there and back in 2 days.

Indeed. Hope we can get some more efficient road tires too.

I've driven that several times in a Model S. But between 2016 and 2018. The wild west of SC access.

Loved staying in the Mt. Shasta Best Western in the snow.

Now I only go from the Bay to Clearlake.

There has been a 150 kW Supercharger in Klamath Falls for 7 years and a couple months ago Tesla got a permit to add a 250 kW Ver. 4 Supercharger just north of town.

No parks are out of reach unless you're in Alaska. And then they're out of reach to most trucks anyhow.
