I followed the steps someone else posted and made a service request for wheel covers and lightbar. The appointment is in a few days. Not sure if I get it or not but they already sent me an estimate for $0.00 since I have the CB FS.
I have a feeling and this is purely a guess. That they might have one or two on hand at each service center just in case for repairs. They might be installing them when they are asked for. At least until they are produced in high enough numbers to give to everyone that was suppose to get one.

I was expecting to get a message saying my appointment is(or will be) cancelled due to the bar not coming in. But it hasn't happened yet. So... See you later this week service center? Please?
I successfully used this method today. Was expecting to be sent home empty handed. Worked perfectly. They even gave me a Model X plaid loaner.
My appointment was confirmed with $0.00 exactly as you said. Good luck

Well a bunch of people have already gotten them, so... Unless there was some new legal action or something, they seem to have found the way around it by not completing the install.
Yeah I heard about this. but how do you explain why some people were able to schedule service appointments for this only to find out that they don't have a light for them once at the SC. And I never said that nobody will get one. Im sure that many already have them and proabably they (tesla)are waiting to see if any backlash or law suits come back so they want to slowly release them incase the stop all orders call comes in from above. I dont know but its not supply issues.

I’ve been waiting since May. Scheduled a Service Appt for the other recalls (bed appliqués and wiper motor) and specially asked to have light bar installed at that time. They came back with a comment and said unfortunately light bar wasn’t available.
That does appear to be the right approach though. I never heard anything about the wheel covers but scheduled the wiper motor recall and asked when I would get the wheel covers and they told me to add it to the service.

The way around that they found is only good to cover their own behind(ass). and it's a work around not a solution. laws are made to be followed not to work around. This does nothing for the consumer. this doesn't mean that I don't want one anyway. just pointing this out. lights without covers are still ilegal in california.

Got the wheel covers, waiting patiently for the light bar! and my aftermarket fog lights.
Looks great! How did you actually get it plugged in? Tesla says they will install but not plug it in, and referred me to local third party places - all of which say they have no idea how to do this / haven't done it.... Thanks in advance. Getting mine installed tomorrow!

I'm still waiting since September 14th for my light bar.
it would be nice to get some type of reassurance or thank you for waiting.
You got to hand it to them this would be the first time I paid for something and to wait this long to get it. other than live events or real estate. and not have a clear indication of when or if I will even get it. I can't believe I agreed to that. well, it felt more like forced into agreement. like you don't like it ok no soup for you. and with no human face in front of you to even express some minor change request or disagreement. they did it anyway got me into paying way ahead of time with uncertain terms ohhwee that's a new one for me. bless their hearts:love: .
I had to schedule with a service center that had one and then a few days later (Last Friday the 27th) they installed it in 2.5 hours free of charge

If only we had a list of the service centers that have them... then we could schedule at one of those service centers... anyone making a list?

Looks great. Couple of questions

Is the housing plastic and of same type as rockers, bumper, etc., or is it metal? Also, I can't tell from that pic if the housing extends at an angle upward or makes a turn and is flat/more horizonal. I am considering working a way to have one of those cameras for the rear view mirror mounted on/in it.

I picked mine up Wednesday. I'll post a pic later. I got it done in Paramus NJ and it took just a day. Picked it up same day.

Today I went to service center to pick up my wheel covers; while there I asked when the time came for my lightbar install if I could just pick it up. The service advisor called Tesla and was advised that the light bar had to be installed (they would not hand it to me). The service advisor also set up a ticket for me to have the install on Jan 28th. I was told they “order to install “ and currently do not keep a stock of the product.

Let’s be honest, what the hell are you going to do with an off-road light bar anyway? Is it really that much of an issue? I would have to imagine that one day you will get the call to come install your light bar. Elon is not tying to pull one over on you.
