Just checked in to see why this conversation is still top of the news feed and was expecting the continued back and forth BS rants. But instead, Aliens. Lovin' every minute folks. Keep up the good work.
I feel attacked!

I mean, I made one fart joke 87 pages ago- in response to a phaser joke. I don’t see how any of this is my fault! ?

I’m waiting for phasers

Elon can do it
Yeah, but if he does, it’ll have a fart setting. ?

Somewhat ironically, Starship actually could run off farts, seeing they are mostly methane and CO2. I've been meaning to propose this to EM for a while, seeing that I have a >1MW (1000kw) geny in my backyard that does exactly that through anaerobic digestion of waste organic material. Very common in Europe and Asia, and using CHP exports power, distributed heat and scrubbed methane back into the NG pipelines. Quite effective way of doing RE that also has the benefit of reducing emissions from organic waste from human production. That way Starship would be renewable powered too.

… and so on, and so forth for 200k additional hours …

I am not responsible for this behavior! If anybody has to take blame for this fluster cuck of a thread, it’s mostly @CyberGus, IMHO!

The record will show that everything was fully ON THE RAILS before he showed up with his nonsense!

Obviously your fart jokes know how to linger. ;)

At least I mangaged to keep the topic on track with using farts to power Starship and Elons invasion of Mars...actually quite genius, even if I have to say so myself. ?

BTW what do you think of the legal implications of Starlink being "subject to Martian law" in their terms of service?

What jurisdiction would it fall under being a "space based enterprise" and if it were incorporated on Mars? Asking for a alien friend of mine. ?

There is some thought that these unexplained sightings are NOT space aliens but either earthborn time travelers* or interdimensional travelers, both technologies arguably easier than interstellar space travel.

(*I would think a guy with a Delorean would already know this....)?‍♂

Same here lol. I was like why are they still talking about this? That was so last week. 29 pages later we have Dalton talking about his farts and an Aussie teaching us how gravity works.

A DeLorean and a Deplorean, not everybody can say that.

What can I say, this subject weighs heavily on me.

I think you say it somewhat in jest, but let me be serious for a change, about these things you mention... ;)

I'm not sure about the time travelling thing, seeing that time doesn't actually exist in the first place.

Let alone as a "dimension" or as a "constant", it's really just a sequence of events and theres no going back once they occured. Delorean or not it's a one way valve to destiny. You might be able to go faster forwards as such, at a faster rate of events, but comparatively that might, just be you not aging as fast as everyone else, say by dipping your toe in a gravity well or travelling real fast, or slowing your metabolism in a freezer.

As for interdimensional, I think thats nearly more of a perception thing, where we simply can't "perceive" the other side for lack of the right tools to measure it, but not because the other side isn't there. Dimensions themselves have a habit of making themselves bigger than they really need to be, because every one of them is made up. We need a better naming policy that actually describes what it is, and not just bundle it together with the first 3 things that come to mind by analogy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a flatearther because of this, neither do I live in 2D Planiverse, but I do believe faulty language and too much crusty old ideology is the biggest barrier to breaking through to better science.

Now for the hairy one though, interstellar travel and the knitted web of space time quilts.

First up light speed is not a "constant", it changes. And for some nutty reason, some not so bright Einstein thought it would be a good idea to screw with Maxwells equations "by coincidence" so that he gets a constant by locking frequency and wavelength together to always make c (light speed) so his E=mc2 M&M mcflurry works. Where as in reality, it has been proven to be not a constant, with it being intentionaly slowed to just 17m/s (38mph) in the 1990's already. Pesky refraction. But then there's the curious case of that speedy photon who's velocity can't actually be measured anyway...those darn dimensions again!

Now if we get rid of the c constant notion, and can surf the right wavelength, you actually get further than you think per oscillation per unit of time, and can avoid this whole actifically limiting dimension business. Besides, If time doesn't actually exist in the first place, then why be beholden to a measurement of time to measure frequency? Without that light speed is free. It turns out in fact Einsteins hair wasn't the craziest thing going on with his head.

This is the danger of scientific endeavour under the constraints of the ideas of dead men.

You can’t even argue with them to prove them wrong, and once they are in your high school text books, you have unwittingly adopted in your head the programing of another persons warped perception of reality, that forms the basis of every constraint you use for your own discovery.

How much do we have to unlearn to make progress towards the truth?

I suppose its just like other doomed "sciences", like how fractional reserve banking is a ponzi scheme and uses fiat debt notes (currency) as "payment". Or that the health care industry can only survive if there's enough sick people, or that there is only one economic pie, and it's "impossible" to make it bigger, so we need to make sure we share the little we have by taking yours away from you. Or the belief we can in any way borrow from our childrens future, so long we make sure we can only afford the interest but no longer have kids at all anyway, because well, we can't afford them if someone else is spending our wealth, but thats ok because we are simply intellectually to smart to fall in the parent trap.

Quite frankly, the things some people still believe is true is quite bizarre.

Now back to my plasma balls...?

How did you manage to see Aliens with FSD? I can’t even look at my face in the mirror without getting a warning! ?
So FSD has alien detection and warns you when it sees one when you look in the mirror? Fascinating. :p

I suppose it would make sense that Elon would want to know if he's been followed by aliens (both legal and illegal kinds) so having that in FSD would be useful. Lol.
