Two weeks guiding in Yellowstone with clients, and the only real complaint is the rear window may be a too bit small. I think it’s fine though. The back end of the bed gets snow inside, but I think I can fix that with some weather stripping.

Charging with the 30A chargepoint in Gardiner, MT was completely free over 12 days and 1,500 miles. Stay at the Ridgeline Hotel or Explorer Cabins if you’re visiting.

I only needed the Rivian DC chargers once, after the -35° day.

Average low temperature was -2°F and average high was 21°. Lowest temp observed was -35°F. Average range would be 200-300 miles, depending on the severity of the temperatures. Average was 270 miles with three passengers. I had wheel covers off the first week, and on the second week with the much colder weather.

The truck is filthy, and there’s snow or dirt in every possible crevice, but no real issues to speak of besides the known cold battery bug. The wiper and windshield seemed to perform better than most cars, who were constantly scraping off ice from underneath the wiper blades.

Awesome! Did you have any problems with snow and ice accumulation obscuring the headlights?

Beautiful pics, what a cool (no pun intended) trip in an even more cool CT!

How was your rear camera visibility? It looks like you may have poked a hole for it in the snow?
If there’s a lot of snow on the road, it gets covered. There’s a heater though, so it’s usually melting through itself. I had to clear it a few times.

Never. Our snow is very dry so it doesn’t stick to things as much.

I like the Heart shape telltale snow stuck to the back end of the CT here.
It clearly shows the shape of the turbulence being produced by CT as it moves down the road.
it looks like 2 rip curls Tubular that originate from under the car and curl out and up then back in from the top and meet in the center to make the clevage of the heart with the rear camera marking its center.
A little unexpected observation, thank you for sharing the photos.

Very awesome, did you meet Rip while in Yellowstone? Lol. Great pictures and field test of the CT, so glad it was a success.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the trip data I logged.

Any idea on average speed? Would think guiding would be on the lower end, and being in the park would guess the same. Thanks for the write up.
