Two weeks guiding in Yellowstone with clients, and the only real complaint is the rear window may be a too bit small. I think it’s fine though. The back end of the bed gets snow inside, but I think I can fix that with some weather stripping.
Charging with the 30A chargepoint in Gardiner, MT was completely free over 12 days and 1,500 miles. Stay at the Ridgeline Hotel or Explorer Cabins if you’re visiting.
I only needed the Rivian DC chargers once, after the -35° day.
Average low temperature was -2°F and average high was 21°. Lowest temp observed was -35°F. Average range would be 200-300 miles, depending on the severity of the temperatures. Average was 270 miles with three passengers. I had wheel covers off the first week, and on the second week with the much colder weather.
The truck is filthy, and there’s snow or dirt in every possible crevice, but no real issues to speak of besides the known cold battery bug. The wiper and windshield seemed to perform better than most cars, who were constantly scraping off ice from underneath the wiper blades.
