Im probably gonna do black, but My issue is I don't like how the gloss is like a mirror. And I've seen a few black cybertrucks in the sun that were satin or matte, and it looks so faded / light colored, I thought it looked bad. It looks like the stek dynoblack matte ppf is pretty dark but does anyone have photos of that in the sun? Or any other satin wraps in the sun that looked pretty dark still? The photos I see always look best in the shade / dark. Does anyone know of any gloss black's that aren't so mirror-ey? I also saw a cybertruck on instagram that was top half gloss black bottom half was satin I think. If anyone could help with experience or photos, im stressing over this decision lol.

CORRECTION: Ultrafit Matte Black PPF (not purefit) on my FSCB for reference. Windows are XPEL Prime XR 80% Heat/99% UV) sides and XPEL Prime XR (90% Heat/99% UV Windshield).

Vinyl said to last 3 years, PPF said to last up to 8 and small scratches may be self-healing (fuse back together).

Vinyl was available in more colors, but PPF catching up.

No opinion myself, not planning to wrap. Stainless is fine as is IMO (and being more numerous, less conspicuous). I wouldn't hate a high end clear ceramic coat (which should reduce fingerprints and make it easier to keep clean) IF there was some place local (central MD, preferably NOT in Baltimore) with experience prepping and applying those, but I'm not aware of one.

I really like those matte black CTs. I didn’t choose matte black but I did choose matte. I think the matte finish will make the bit of rippling on the rear sails less noticeable.
I was on the fence about a wrap at all but every time I came across a CT that was wrapped, I would think “hey, that’s nice” and it adds a bit of personality to both the CT and the driver.
I chose PPF for its durability and self healing properties.
oh my color is TPU Ultra-Matte Electroplate Purple
It seems to change colors from black to deep red to deep purple. Not sure if I’ve seen a CT in this color.

Considered black but was concerned about summer heat gain, so went with autobahn silver prismatic ppf which looks like stainless when view at 90 degrees but changes color at different angles - from green to teal to blue.

PPF is going to hold up better, but is also going to be much harder to remove when the time comes, if you have it that long. It will leave a lot of residue that will take some work to remove. This will be much easier on Cybertruck than worrying about damaging paint, but still a lot of work. For that reason I'm going to use vinyl, and I'm only planning on partial wrap, so it will be easy to redo any damaged sections or change it up sometime.

I prefer gloss wraps on Cybertruck, I think because it highlights the angles better.

Nice. If a wrap could tempt me, that would be it. I like all the different ways it could look.

Unpopular opinion: just use 3m 2080. Its about 600 dollars in material with plenty of extra for mistakes. Do it yourself, it's easy. It won't be perfect, no one's is. Change the color every few months if you want. Don't overthink it. Don't over spend.
