I went in to the SC for tire rotation and while I was waiting, I talked to an 8 1/2 year Tesla employee about FSD and where I had a problem. I told him there was a 4 way blinking red light intersection, and that my CBCT would "roll" through the light. I would report the intersection to Tesla almost every time. The truck treated the intersection like a blinking yellow light. Since there is a police station a couple blocks from this intersection, I didn't want to get a ticket. This intersection was on my way to church, and I kept waiting for it to be fixed after the 8+ updates to FSD.

The SC guy replied that they have a crew that drives out to the spots where reports are generated and try to recreate the problem. This sounds really good, but I don't know if he was pulling my leg or not?

Has anyone heard of this before?

If it is true, all the more reason for everyone to report bad spots...

BTW, on the last FSD update, it is now fixed, it stops now at that intersection. YAY!

I thought for the fixes, they rely on all the videos feeds from the different cameras on each Tesla.

They do, but they also send drivers. We've seen Tesla employees at Chuck's turn for over a year sometimes 5 days a week. I'm sure there are other areas like this as well.

I'm thinking they don't investigate if no voice message is sent. I disengage all the time without leaving messages. Like, if I want to go a different route, or I see a car I want to race, or I see a pot-hole I want to avoid, etc. I would think they don't have the time to review all the videos.

They will only do this for high priority edge cases.

I gotta hope they at last have some sort of AI based transcription of all the voice reports with videos indexed and catalogued. That way some day they can say “Optimus, find me all the videos with people screaming POTHOLE! and tell our minions to start avoiding things that look like that.” And, boom, no longer do I have to swerve around the same pothole everyday.

Yes Dan, FSD struggled mightily with flashing lights for a long time (slowing down for flashing yellows at 2:00a). I haven't run a flashing red yet, but given the improvements I've seen in the last 3-6 months they are mastering both flashing lights and roundabouts which used to be much more problematic IMHO.

Still glad to hear your issue was resolved as you posted this note...

I'm glad FSD finally resolved your problem intersection.

For those who don't have other Tesla vehicles, just know that as good as FSD is on Cybertruck, it's consistently better on my wife's 2024 Performance Model 3. The gap closes with most new updates, even though FSD is still improving on non-Cybertruck models.

I have a problem intersection which is a 4 way, but the way it opens up and looks is like a Y, a 3 way. This does confuse the truck. I'll make a point to voice a note next time going thru it.

This is seriously important because its on the way to our favorite hamburger joint.

I report one every morning on my way to work where the CT turns left into the oncoming traffic left turn lane. It misses the proper lane by the width of a lane every time.

Yep! For the last 5 months, I've been sending Tesla voice messages regarding this. It seems to happen only in a few left turn locations only and is not wide spread on all left turns. One version would fix this issue but the follow-up version would regress back to this problem. I feel like someone inside Tesla is deliberately f*cking with us. Perhaps he hates Elon and wants to screw him this way

Well, which is it? A 3 or a Y?

Tesla jokes…
