Fredonia, NY. In the mile from the charger to the highway, what appeared to be a college kid stuck their arm way out their window and gave me the bird.
I am originally from Buffalo, small town named Clarence. I had some good times in Fredonia growing up.

Not perfect but better than it was

The fact that a little Maguires scratch remover worked on Cybersteel shows just how hard it is to make a deep scratch on it. Especially if the implement being used is just a key. But you can take almost anything out easily with the right abrasive pads. I use these in 320 and 800 grit :

Festool 150mm (6") Vlies Abrasives - Lee Valley Tools

If I managed to get a really deep scratch I would use 100 grit to start, but that would be unusual and I've never needed that.

These also work really well and give a beautiful luster that just glows:

Grit Abrasives D150 S400 PL/15 Platin

Use the 400 and/or 500 grits. These are a foam backed fast cutting silicon carbide abrasive (harder and more uniform than aluminum oxide abrasives) that are very finely graded for a uniform appearance (without the big obvious 5mm diameter circular scratches of the factory finish). Don't go finer than 500 grit unless you want to start getting into a polished mirror finish.

The 400-500 grit Platin pads leave a beautifully even satin luster.

Whatever you use, the results will be best if you use dust extraction on the tool to keep the work area clean of loose abrasives. Cleanliness is important for an even appearance. Tesla instructs to wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol-soaked rag between passes.

A good strategy for very light scratches as in the above video would be to do one or two passes with the 320 grit vlies (another word for "fleece") and then move to the 400 grit Platin and call it good. But it really depends upon the look you like the most. The number of passes with the 320 grit (or even the 100 grit) should be determined by how deep any surface imperfections are.

Get some "White Diamond" metal polish to remove it if your still seeing marks. Sucks, but, maybe you can identify her through social media in your area.
I don't recommend that for two reasons:

1) The abrasives are too fine, shinier spots will be left wherever you polish it.
2) It has a built-in sealant. The even sheen of the Cybertruck is easier to maintain without contaminants on the surface.

The metal likes to be exposed to the air and water. Just abrade the finish you want and then maintain it with regular soap and water washing and rinsing. It's not fragile at all, but it does look best if you keep oils and other contaminants washed off.

I just saw a horrific video of a guy running alongside a CT in NYC, banging on the windows of the CT, and came to our forum to understand what happened. I found the thread, but it's deleted.

Why? Was this a poster decision? Not great, but I'm sure there was a reason. Was this a mod decision? Absolutely not, can't happen.

This kind of video is CRITICAL to document and not take down. This thread in the subreddit-that-shall-not-be-named represents actual incitement to violence.

This perp, or someone like him, will pull this stunt with the wrong CT driver and will get rightfully reminded that pedestrian-vs-vehicle interactions should be avoided, not sought out. Anyone deranged enough to do this is dangerous enough to pull out a gun and shoot the CT driver.

When that CT driver gets charged, he MUST have records of threads like this one to show how pervasive and threatening these lunatics are.

Please do NOT take this down again without a VERY good reason.

right in front of a cop! I would not have driven away...just saying.

Driving on 87N Friday evening I had a deranged subaru box me in. I was left lane driving and they swerved out of right lane and blocked the left lane. With kids in car, I was pretty patient. Next they slowed down (not brake check) to about 40mph leading to the cars behind me to slam their brakes and swirv and pass. I followed suit and the car switch lanes again. It was a group of young girls who rolled their window down in 32 degree weather to flip my wife and kids the bird.

People lost their minds.
see if you got the plate on one of the cameras and report it to the police. We cannot let these incidents go unchecked.

A masked they/them decided to try and key a swastika into the drivers side sail of my Cybertruck. I didn't notice until I went to wash the truck and was able to go back and find the sentry footage. Thankfully the steel is hard enough that it barely scratched it. I was able to buff it out. What is wrong with people?

Oh definitely; kids lovvvve the CT. It’s like some sci-fi or DC comics thing.

Looks better!

Since you know time/day of this assault on your Cybertruck, and people are creatures of habit, I am willing to bet this person will be in the area again...and soon. If you want to park your Cybertruck as "live bait" and we hang out in my ICEmobile truck nearby, we can do this until you again see the perp. I'd really like to do a little "citizen's arrest" action and detain the perp and turn over to law enforcement.

My backseat was full of kids in the driveway on Sunday. Neighbor's grandkids, all under 11. Somehow they got Mr Beast blaring on the rear screen, I've never touched the rear screen in my truck. They played in the vault and sat in the frunk and played the arcade. It is a Kid's Truck.

The Mom wanted to drive. She didn't want to back it up out of the driveway, I showed her all the cameras, animation and direction lines to help with reversing. She did great, successfully reversed and learned 1 pedal driving pretty quickly. I found out later that she won't even reverse her minivan out of Grandpa's driveway, makes him do it for her, she's not a confident driver. I think a Tesla is a great fit for this type of driver, no visits to nasty gas stations with a car full of kids, massive safely options for all levels of drivers, constant improvements thru OTA and kids love the ecosystem.

I think a spark was lit.
