The good old Sieg Heil....
Loser. Who has social media at his age? That’s the only explanation for doing that. I’m in my 30s, don’t have social media, and thought Elon was doing a weird “throw my heart out to you” gesture during that speech. Didn’t cross my mind that it was a Nazi thing. Yet one weirdo on social media says it and all the brainwashed idiots are like “YEAH! That’s what it was.”

Yeah, it's crazy what extents people will go to to get what they want, no matter how incredibly stupid it is (as most humans tend to be the aforementioned).

Just move on. (Part of) his goal is to make you angry, don't let him succeed. Be thankful it wasn't physical.
People on the side of the road aren’t worth my time. I look straight enjoy the ride, the tech, and my music — with a big grin on my face.

I appreciate your reply and I agree with you. I genuinely can't tell his motivations, is he for or against? To make the actual gesture, if you're against it, makes zero sense.

I move on easily, and I have little anger in me to be triggered, so that path never works for me, and I do not have any fear of confrontation. I am genuinely curious about others, and I'll look forward to finding him, and (hopefully) having a conversation about this.

You guys need to make up your mind. Is this gesture a normal “throw my hart out”, or a Nazi symbol? Maybe this person was also signaling how much he loved seeing the cybertruck?
In particular in isolation, knowing nothing else about that person, I would not immediately jump to the Nazi salute conclusion.

On the other hand, if you know that that person endorses the ADF in Germany, and forwards on X the meme that Hitler didn’t kill all those Jews, amongst a lot of other “tweets” (how do you call messages on X?) in that case believing it was likely the Nazi salute makes sense, don’t you think?

I got this morning my first dislike sign. (I don’t use the word hate as it is overused and is losing its meaning. People hate rival sports teams, daylight savings time, getting out of bed early, and now seemingly Tesla‘s, in particular Cybertrucks. Whatever). While waiting for a red light a car passed in front making a left turn. The driver signaled the bird to me, assume he didn’t like my car? I gave him a thumbs up, he drove a nice car, a Volvo X60.

Well an actual sieg heil as the germans did it way back did not have a stuck out thumb, this looks more like a “hey hello” to me.

elon’s weird gesture didn’t strike me as a sieg heil when i first saw it. But then later he was leaning into it when speaking to the german ultra right wing party, so yah he’s dirty. Doesn’t mean the crowd reacting to CTs is justified though. I don’t care much about gestures, i just smile if i even see them.

i think we should start a competition, see who collects the most fingers and sieg heils i.e., lean into it. :)

I gotta hand it to you. You have more self control than me. I can handle middle fingers and thumbs down. But someone spitting on my truck crosses the line. I probably would have turned around, drove up next to him and spit right back on him… or thrown coffee or something. Sometimes these pricks need a lesson taught or their bell rung.

God bless your sense of control.
I definitely thought about doing exactly what you just described but it was a stressful day at work and I had zero energy and patience for something like this. Karma will catch back up to him eventually. Hopefully before he does something stupid to another person.

Last night we did a group birthday dinner thing at a tepanyaki place in a big shopping plaza. Being in a 50/50 area in a blue state, with protests at DCs, SCs and town commons yesterday, we considered taking the Model 3 and leaving the CT at home.
Happy to say, in three hours, the only 3 Sentry Mode events were the adjacent car leaving, and two different groups of teens taking cellphone photos.
In this “friends of friends “ party of 16, no one had any negative thoughts about our ride.
A good friend who cuts our kids’ hair had been needling them for two months about the CT. (She leans right, so it was more about the truck not looking like a country music video prop than anything political).
? When we all arrived at a karaoke bar afterwards, she spontaneously decided she wanted a ride in the CT.
Mind blown! ?. She could not shut up about it. She was cringily (is that a word?) telling everyone at the club that they have to take a ride in the CT. She was talking to randoms and her opening line was, “He ?? has a CyberTruck.” If I was single she would’ve been my cyberpimp!
At the end of the night, we wound up driving a neighbor to the babysitter and took him and his son home. Kid was beyond thrilled that he got to ride in the CT he had seen around town.
So despite some previous hesitation, it was a very positive night, there are at least three more EVangelists running around Worcester county, and my faith in humanity is reaffirmed.
Sleipnir The CyberTruck FTW!

Yet, everybody knows what these other people are doing wholeheartedly. With certitude!!! Why no endless discussion about whether what they’re doing is just throwing their hearts out to the crowd? Don’t we need to know if they’re neurodivergent before we can tell what they’ve actually done? If not, WHY not?

Did you see any of these people also snap their heels? Why do all the excuses and explanations only apply to one dude?

One dude, by the way who very shortly after this very specific gesture (twice) spoke passionately to Germans about how they need to get over their past guilt. What does that mean? From “never forget” to hurry up and get over it? Why?

Again, the likelihood of someone even an autistic person unintentionally (twice), spontaneously doing something that coincidentally looks like a well-known unnatural hand gesture is nearly NIL. Further while some autistic people have involuntary muscle twitches (the physical equivalent of Tourette’s) this is not that. This was voluntary. We have footage of the exact same man actually extending his heart to the audience and he knows exactly how to communicate that sentiment. That’s not what he was doing. People who know him well have been clear that that isn’t what he was doing. I’ve cited it before, I’m not going to do it again. Don’t ask.

What this is, is the exact equivalent of Cartman pretending to have Tourette’s/“ASSBURGERS.” Except, this was decided not funny, despite all the jokes and memes offered after the fact.

So, people are “unchecked” because they are just reporting the facts. Facts just exist. No one, including you will ever know what’s in this man’s heart. More importantly, it’s an wholly irrelevant metric to determine what he did physically.

At best, it’s a distinction without meaning. If I was awkwardly trying to punch a fly, missed and hit somebody in the mouth knocking their tooth out what I was trying to do doesn’t fucking mean anything. I probably owe them an apology (at least) wouldn’t you think? Of course you would!!!

Anybody believing this lady that she was just trying to handover the baton? No! They charged her with fucking assault! Why? What was in her heart? ?

On and on and on we go trying to explain the inexplicable. It is what it is. It’ll never be other than that.

I could write about our country, the longstanding prejudices we seem to edge forward away from slowly, and the reactivity I observe from so many, the lack of filter, consideration, awareness...I have certainly in my younger years been guilty of my poor judgment, yet, I have never intentionally hurt anyone, never the many offenses that have been permitted to occur, in our current times, and certainly not this, A Sieg Heil ??? really? ....in my peaceful town, I have had no issues, until today..I cannot presume to know his meaning, without talking to him, but I will find him, and I will find out. I believe we are all better than this and our country is better than all this ridiculousness. I can't imagine he does this to every Tesla, and why is this vehicle somehow special? Are people really that easily moved?

Lately, I have been getting too many thumbs down, Elon us making his effect on a lot of them out there... other things could be hatred, jealousy, trump effect... doesn't bother me... there are all sorts of people out there. I've thought of reacting back by giving a thumbs up ?, never able to react in time...

Perhaps I missed something here, I don't believe I did in my post, or did another comment here accuse him of that?
