Yes, the deliveries will be down. The haters will come out in droves with another negative Tesla article.

Okay, and a day later, they were able to schedule my delivery for Saturday in NJ. I guess that was the holdup on the promo financing. Now, I have to figure out a way to get to Paramus from Maine!

I should have noticed on the cost breakdown a line item for Carrier Direct Fee, $1125. Delivering would have put me past the Mar 31 deadline for promo financing. By picking up in NJ, I can do it before the end of quarter and get the promo rate.

Anyone know if I can bring a personal check to pay the deposit?

Tesla will probably announce the 1Q 2025 production and deliveries on April 2. And yes, the numbers are likely to be down.

The good news is that most people are already expecting this. Production of the Model Y, which accounts for more than 60% of Tesla vehicle sales, was temporarily suspended because of the transition to the new design. This is a valid concern, but only in the short term, and I think that most investors get it.

The big question mark now is 2Q 2025. Investors will be looking for two things.

First, the Model Y transition should be complete. So investors will want to see Tesla vehicle sales trending back up to 2024 levels (or even better, to 2023 levels). If vehicle sales are still down after 2Q 2025 (so for the first half of the year), then investors will be disappointed.

Second, they will want to see FSD reach the next level. Elon has claimed that fully autonomous Tesla robotaxis will be hitting the streets of Austin in June. If that doesn't happen, then investors will be disappointed. Waymo is already there.

I just submitted an order today, but when I got to financing, I only saw 3 options, Tesla Lease, Alliant Loan, and self-arranged loan. I wanted to use the 1.99% promo financing. How do you get that?
Any luck with this?

Yep, all resolved, look at post #18. I needed to take delivery in NJ on Saturday for the promo rate to show up in my app.

And, I can fly from my small town in Maine, to Boston and connect to Newark. Then take an Uber over to the Paramus delivery center.

Just watch the trade in values with these good deals. Local dealer is offering between $76-79k for my Sierra EV. Tesla offered $60k over the phone, sight unseen.. No way I'm taking that hit. I'm going to visit the Tesla dealer this weekend to chat and see what the deal is.

Car makers have to provide quarterly reports on sales and finances. They often offer the best deals near the end of the quarter, so they can improve the numbers before they issue the quarterly report.

Right now, we are approaching the end of Q1, and Tesla has rolled out some attractive deals, including 1.99% APR on the Cybertruck and 0% on the Model 3. Both of those deals end on March 31, which is the final day of Q1.

In the short run, it's unlikely that Tesla will offer better deals in early Q2. If Tesla decides to offer special deals again, it would most likely be in late May or June, as the end of Q2 approaches.

In the longer run, it seems like Tesla has to do something big in order to clear 2024 Cybertrucks out of inventory. I suspect that most of the CTs you see in storage are 2024s, especially demos.

The 2024s aren't eligible for the $7,500 tax credit, and so most buyers aren't interested. Tesla has discounted the 2024s down to as low as about $74,000, but that's still more expensive than a brand new 2025 after the tax credit. Most people are not going to opt for a 2024, if a 2025 is both newer and cheaper.

The 2024s aren't getting any fresher as we move into 2Q 2025. Seems like Tesla will ultimately be forced to take action in order to get them off the lots. Maybe 0% financing or a discounted price below $70,000 would do it.
They should just pull them back for parts or some kind of way of reusing the parts in new vehicles. Not sure on the legal of all that

Q2 is around the corner.

Let's see what CT demand levers Tesla leadership will pull to move the unsold 2024 Cybertruck's.

I don’t think so.
The options are:
Wire Transfer
App payment (via Plaid)
Certified Cashier’s Check

But the local center may have some discretion. I wouldn’t count on it.

Yep, I paid the down payment via Plaid. Everything is a tiny bit different than when I bought my Model 3 back in 2018.

Just curious what your down payment was that you are able to use Plaid to pay that? I am doing a $30k down payment and the only option in the app I can do is wire transfer. I read that under $50k we should be able to use ACH via Plaid so mildly annoying I don't have that option.

The limit may depend upon your bank. Mine wasn't all that large. The last time I made a wire transfer, years ago, cost me $25 at my bank, so not that onerous.
