I’ve had it make a left across a divided highway pulling into the left lane. then slow to 20mph and wiggle like it can’t decide if it wants to get in the right lane

I’ve also had it hug the left line and even drive off the road.

The one that really bugs me is when driving on the interstate and passing rest area with a close service road with a 15 mph speed limit, and the truck changes its limit to 15 and brakes.

95% of the time it does a great job.

Its “seeing” of speed limit signs currently is NOT ready for showtime. Period. (for mine, at least)

It doesn’t read signs as of right now. Speed limits are programmed in.

100% - FSD is not safe as far as I am concerned. For CT... it drifts right to left in the lane... hugs the centerline on two lanes roads to the point it feels unsafe and on divided highways it does the same. Why won't it hug the outside of the lane like a human driver!?

And to top it off - traffic aware cruise control is a psychopath that wants to kill me... doing 75 on the hwy - no one around and it just slams on the brakes... seems to happen near off-ramps but WHY!

I would settle for plain stupid cruise control - hold my speed but no - tesla cant be bothered.

CT is otherworldy when human driven... will be a long time before it could rebuild my trust.

Final rant - why am I assuming liability when using FSD... if tesla really belives in it - when FSD is engaged they would assume liability... That aspect of trusting fsd but when it goes south, the fallout rests with the owner doesnt sit right with me.

Out of curiosity, was there a prevailing wind blowing you toward the lines?

My CT stays does not do what yours did at all, normally, but I have noticed it have trouble staying centered in lateral strong winds.
It was pretty windy today so maybe?

Is it me or is FSD for the cybertruck getting way worse? It’s unusable at times because it’s hugs the left & right lane line and even goes over it sometimes! This hazardous behavior needs to be addressed, I had to disengage fsd multiple times because it came dangerously close to hitting road cones. Then it just decided to hang out between lanes. I allowed it to do this so I could get it on camera for everyone at Tesla to see it. I pay attention when driving but others may not. Anyone else having this bad of a time?
I took mine in for a 4 wheel alignment after noticing uneven tire wear on the front tires (inside on both) and asked for a camera calibration in the same appointment because of the “huggy” line behavior on the highway.
The combo of alignment and rerunning the camera alignment routine from the service page looks to have solved the line hugging. Need to get more miles on it but it has been well behaved since.

I noticed that every time there is an update, the left lane highway drift is fixed for a while and then it returns to rumble strip mode with the display clearly showing the truck over the left yellow line. Like it got a reset then "learns" incorrectly to drive over the yellow line.

Then it puts on the blinker to return to the middle lane and just stays left with the blinker on for 45 seconds before it decides to switch lanes with no traffic anywhere.

And the nagging and strikes are horrible. You literally have to pay more attention when in FSD mode. At night I am staring straight at the road with my prescription glasses on, and it starts nagging me to pay attention for no reason. That seemed to start with the last update.

Holy shot your so right yesterday it turned into head on traffic I had to steer out of it last minute. And it keeps riding the yellow line on the highway also rides the POV lanes and turns into the POV lanes when you’re not supposed too. The boys at Tesla have to get there together.

Got back home last night from a 1200 mi trip and YES mine hugged the left yellow stripe and went off onto the shoulder twice! Could have been a disaster. It also is bery slow changing from left to right lane- loke 20-30 seconds. Aside from that it drove flawlessly

My 2024 CT dual motor drives more like my hw3 model 3P (mostly), not like my HW4 Model Y LR. Idk why.
The important thing to remember is over the long run, FSD will be safer than human drivers so just deal with how awful it is . Akin to trusting flying in a plane vs driving your car cross country. True there is turbulence and many delays … but statistically ur more likely to not get hurt or die flying .

I'm on 13.2.8. Mostly, it's exceptionally good, but this version likes to brake quite late - late enough that I'm often about to panic and manually slam the brakes, and my wife's purse will fall off her lap from the inertia as the car slows itself.

Drifting left in a lane is much improved - rarely happens for me - but it:
  • Always tries to move into a right lane that's about to end.
  • Puts the signal on super early - sometime 2 blocks before a turn.
  • Makes very slow lane changes, to the point I'm sure people behind me think I've accidentally triggered the signal.
  • On a two lane left turn it will start in the right left turn lane but finish the turn in the left left turn lane, and it's not shy about cutting off cars in that lane mid turn.
  • The wiper still activates on a sunny day with a clear windshield, every time.
  • It sometimes drops the speed substantially on engagement while driving, causing the truck to lurch quite dramatically. I gently ease my foot off the go pedal now.
  • There are a couple of corners it gets wrong every time, and does a little mid corner wobble to correct - this has been the case for all FSD versions so far. Nothing special about those corners, it just can't get them right.
  • Will sometimes turn the signal on for awhile, then off. Then on for awhile again. My truck and its signals don't get along so well.
Having said all that, it's still magical and handles 99% of my trips. But usually with a disengagement here and there, and I always forget to manually turn off the auto wiper setting until after the random swipe.

I haven't had any safety critical disengagements - just minor corrections here and there, plus always at my destination, where it doesn't really know what to do - parks randomly, diagonally across two spots, and tells me I've arrived.

i'm glad someone brought this topic up. I have had the same thing happen to me when I updated (CyberBeast) to Software 2025.8.7. Hugs left side, runs along rumple strips and bits bumps, at times on an undivided 4 lane highway (double double yellow lines with rumble pavement, Hwy 101 in California) it crosses over the first set of double yellow lines, and finally to add insult to injury with no other traffic it refused to stay in the right hand lane under FSD and would turn signal and steer to the left hand lane.

I also pulled over two times and reset/rebooted my software to no avail.

I finally disengaged FSD.

Hoping the next update (2025.14.1?) will fix this....

It's been claimed that Tesla has recently been shifting resources away from general FSD development. This is because optimizing FSD for unsupervised robotaxi operations in Austin specifically is currently a higher priority.
Tesla is racing toward its planned robotaxi debut in June, with hundreds of test drivers quietly laying the groundwork across Austin .... the intensity of the program has increased substantially, and many workers have shifted from updating Tesla's Full Self-Driving system to robotaxi development, two people said.
No idea if this true, but it wouldn't be surprising.

See and everyone was crying, give the CT FSD, I’ve owned it X days and still no FSD. All the comments was flying. Now here we are, it’s not good enough yet. I’m with ya tho, it’s not good enought yet, definitely not robotaxi ready. We gonna need millions of miles on it for it to be great.
You’re right we will need a million miles on it, so had they released it earlier, we’d be closer.
