I hate how it becomes faded too, I'm thinkin of just wrapping the sides now while I have a textile mat covering the bed.

Does it still look good? my test area I did with it looks really bad.Day 4 (updated pic). still seems to be holding up pretty well. I did notice a spot here and there that looked like it dried out a bit. It was mostly in the corners of the ribs on the bed floor but I don't know if it's because I didn't apply well enough the first time to those areas. I touched up those spots, Pic is from before.

Hoping for a 10ish day out picture update on this to see how it went?I’m putting this on after seeing a buddies. Will post pictures.
Hey, ill update pics this weekend if you want. I actually went and took a look at it yesterday - just forgot to take pics. It still looks mostly the same, there was a small spot or two that looked like it could use a touch up but nothing major, idk if it's just because I didn't apply it as heavy in those areas or it dried out.Hoping for a 10ish day out picture update on this to see how it went?
I applied a really thick and heavy coat - the plastic is very thirsty so i saturated mine.. Its not sticky or greasy to the touch at this point, its dry but not faded.Does it still look good? my test area I did with it looks really bad.

Yea if you wouldn't mind that would be cool, considering doing it myself and be nice to get a sneak preview.Hey, ill update pics this weekend if you want. Not a problem.Yea if you wouldn't mind that would be cool, considering doing it myself and be nice to get a sneak preview.
Looks way better, although the dry spots are creeping in.Hey, so here's the updated photos (Sorry I didn't feel like taking all the stuff out - but you get the idea and can still see the sides and tail door). So it still looks way better than it did to begin with, but if you look at the second pic there are a few small spots that started to dry out. If you touch them up it goes right back to black but I do wish it lasted a bit longer.

I did it on 4/19 I believe... I hadn't checked it in a few days before yesterday, but it wasn't like that last weekend.Looks way better, although the dry spots are creeping in.
How long was it on there from install to starting to dry in spots?
Most people who buy pickup trucks rarely do pickup truck things with them - I know I don't very often. You are using it the way it was intended to be designed, to me it is just an extension of the interior that I like to look clean, there are others who put rims, lights, lower it, off-roading gear, etc... To each his own. I will say this tho, your bed looks better now after hauling the stuff you did than mine did since day one.To be honest, I don't understand all the fuss over the bed or the "chalky" appearances some of you appear to have. I mean, it's a truck bed.
That said, I do love my Cybertruck even though I don't fuss over the appearance of the bed. I do like to keep it generally pretty clean in case I have to haul items that should stay clean. I've hauled loads of firewood, wet leaves and branches, rocks, appliances, household items, camping gear, bicycles and motorcycles, and stuff I can't even remember. I just hose it with a regular hose sprayer after hauling dirty things. I've also washed it twice with soap and water and a truck washing brush after washing the truck with the same bucket of soapy water.
It has a couple of orangish "skid marks" from douglas fir bark, a couple of lighter "skid marks" from who knows what, but looks pretty good, IMO. So this photo is just one more data point of a one year truck bed that's never had any special treatment and hasn''t been washed in a couple of months:

IMO, this still looks pretty pristine for a truck bed after everything it's been used for over the last year. I can't say it looks particularly "chalky". No dents and no major scratches either, which is a lot more than I can say for the painted steel bed in my previous F-150 after a year of the same type of usage.
But, yeah, it's a truck bed, not a sacred religious icon. It will probably still look pretty respectable after it's a decade old too.
Dang so 2-3 weeks before it starts to lighten. Thanks for documenting.I did it on 4/19 I believe... I hadn't checked it in a few days before yesterday, but it wasn't like that last weekend.
