Lol, I hate to have to break this to you but they have had little tiny sticker about 1/4 inch wide by 1.5 inch long for a few years now that’s also mostly transparent. You place it anywhere on the inside windshield over you head and you’ll never see it. I have them on my X and S.

They do not require ANYTHING anymore other that an account which potential to have multiple cars included in the account. I just bought a model Y and did not have the transponder when I travelled to the Bay Area. The sigh at the booth says "FastTrack or Invoice" and let's EVERYONE pass! Then they "scan" your car license plate and either subtract the toll from your account (provided you have registered your car with its license plate in your account) OR send you a bill so you can pay either online or use regular mail.

I passed the tolls expecting to get then invoice and then logged into my FASTTRACK account and added my new car with the new license plate and retroactived it to the day BEFORE I passed the toll booths. The fees (for both the BayBridge, and the Carquinex Bridge) showed up in my account two days later.

I believe the Flex transponder is still required for the passenger count specific toll in the express lanes. If I have 3+ I would rather get the free ride than not

Found the fastrak fits perfectly next to the visor and a 3d print file that goes well with it. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5516660

Just make sure to use some heat resistant material or the sun will make it droop like what happened to mine.

Hi @loki , is you Fastrak tag working normally?

I have mine mounted vertically at the same spot but on the passenger side. My FasTrak statement is only showing my plate number, not the tag number, without multiple occupants discount, so I assume it is not working.

Good question. I don’t see any transactions with this transponder. I have had it set on 3 as I would be only using it on 3 with a full car or have avoided it all together. Do you have any tint on the front ?

The sticker doesn't let you use differently priced express lanes, either. If you want to use them even with a motorcycle, you're supposed to use the transponder.

The Fastrak uses radio waves, so it shouldn't care what tint you have on your window. In my Mazda, it's in the sunglass cubby, which is completely opaque.

I wonder if the radio signal is bouncing off the denser material of the windshield? Or maybe you need it closer to the front edge of the window?

I rarely have to use the FastTrak but did see it work correctly recently in the position I posted crossing a bridge.
Same. I have mine just over the driver's seat at the top of the windshield. It showed on my latest bill as crossing GGB via the transponder.

How do you swap the numbers if the clip covers the switch?

Wait... Do you need to swap the switch for an EV? You don't for a motorcycle.

It doesn’t actually cover it. That black is just my covering the serial. And I actually changed my mount to this.

I use this one.

Can snap a photo of it installed later today, but in that same location, the switch is fully accessible.
