WOW!! acceleration is insane. It handles great. They are not that much smaller, about 2"

Range has gone up but I do not have any real world numbers yet. I Got Nitto Grappler in a 265/60/20. For summer they should be great. Still have my Toyo's on my stock rims for winter but these are fun.

^ what he said. Did you adjust the tire size setting in the settings menu?

It’s good to have a genius point things out. I bet the truck has a way to offset the numbers to show real speed?
You make things easy to see. Thanks.
Per another thread, the service center can adjust the wheel size value.

Cybertruck doesn't have that option AFAIK (yet?)
Theoretically, it could self calibrate and prompt fir confirmation.

it does not. Truck has no way to adjust tire size. Just what comes with the truck from Tesla

fascinating. This is good info. however, since I cannot adjust in the settings all I did was drive like I normally do. I generally do same stuff every day for work. Seems I have more battery now at end of the day. I have not tried a boat pull to the lake yet.
If you are driving at the same indicated speed you did before, in reality it's 6% slower. That's a 12% reduction in energy used to overcome aerodynamic drag (aero drag is proportional to the square of velocity).
Could check trip distances to see if they are reading 6% high, but that takes a longer journey for accuracy (~1 mile off per 16).

This would also explain any acceleration increase as well. Your getting to 60 faster, but its not really 60.

For the case where the motor torque is maxed out, smaller tires can boost acceleration. So an AWD might actually be faster.

For sure, but not sure how noticeable it would be, compared to the much faster climb of the speedo.

I don't think that's right. The OEM All-Terrain tires have a different diameter than the 'Winter" AT tires Tesla provides. When I had them switched over my efficiency was too good for the freeway trip home. After the car auto-recalibrated, the efficiency went back to where I expected it. I didn't measure the odometer or speedometer, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. And all of our other Tesla auto recalibrate to any tire size supplied by Tesla.

Huh, how different are the diameters? Both are listed as 285/65R20, but All Terrain are called out as light truck tires.

It's just a couple of percent difference, if I recall correctly. It's common for tires of the same size spec to have different diameters and tread widths by a few percent. The manufacturers don't feel very constrained by the specs.
