I for one would buy the “Foundation” series of a CyberSUV! It makes total sense, like the Suburban to the Silverado. I would keep my CT and trade in our Escalade ESV for a CyberSUV. Two different CT models in the driveway!

Well, I certainly hope they don’t!

Firstly, it was a bit of a fiasco the way they did it the first time.

Secondly, it would further cheapen the whole deal for those of us who did buy a FS/CT.

The Cybertruck is the only Tesla vehicle currently to have a “Foundation Series.” Some people are Lucy Goosy about the language, but the New Roadster had/has a “Founder’s Edition” that was a $250,000 variant when they opened pre-orders (I don’t remember what the total number was but I am sure that they sold out of those). The new 3/Y’s are just “Launch Editions.” I hope it stays this way.

Tesla has announced that the Cybertruck will become available this year in Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

Will be interesting to see if they kick off sales in those new markets by re-introducing the Foundation Series.

We have an trusty old Model X from '18.
In two years we would be looking for a possible replacement. It would be nice to have a 3 row that is as capable as the CT to haul all of the family and maybe friends or relatives out for al the adventures.
Lux package for us as well!

Strong buy for our family.

Not sure what part you have an issue with. I too have a Foundation CT. I got one of the early ones and love it more and more every day.

My point was I would be first in line to buy an SUV version of the CT (if you couldn’t get that from my comment or if I wasn’t clear). Whatever they call it, launch, foundation, first ones, or no name at all, Tesla has my order.

Would you buy one?

I’m not taking issue with your post in any way. Just salty about the fact that the badge is about the only thing that makes the foundation series cyber truck special anymore. If they want to do something special for the SUV if they ever make it just do a new launch edition and leave us alone!

And no I would not buy one; I said early in the thread that I’m not an SUV guy I never have been never will be. I mostly like sports cars if it’s gotta have four seats it needs to be a coupe, not a sedan.

If you got an early Beast with the $4k install credit, the FS was the best deal for that trim yet. In addition, you were one of the first people to get to drive this one-of-a-kind vehicle. Maybe because I am not in the AWD trim, where the tax rebate made the non-FS a bit better of a deal for those income elitible, but the FS didn't make me mad at all.

All good points but yeah the tax credit was never an option for me. And unfortunately my number came up after they reduced the credit to 2500 from 4000 missed it by like a couple of days. There were a few of us who had similar situations.

So yeah. I’m salty I have reason to be and when buying a car that you ordered five years prior I don’t think that luck should play a role in what kind of deal you get if the price is non-negotiable and you’re doing a retail model.

So what you’re suggesting I got came with a lot of caveats and aggravation with Tesla. With both my C7 and C8 Corvette I did get the pleasure of having the vehicle before anybody else and also paying sticker when everybody was getting 10+ thousand dollar markups (much more so with the C8 - my dealer told me that he could’ve sold my car for $70,000 more than what I paid for it on the day I took delivery). Absolutely none of this is my first rodeo.

Yes that’s right, I got a Beast and was one of the first. Wow, was that a once in a lifetime experience driving this amazing vehicle back then, blowing everyone’s mind. I have videos of people’s reactions. But it will forever be in my memories. Priceless.

And today, I still get to drive the most amazing vehicle available. I would buy a CT over and over again if I had to. There is still nothing I’d rather drive.

Not convinced that Tesla is going to sell a lot of Cybertrucks in Saudi Arabia. This is a country where gasoline currently costs $2.35/gallon (converted from $0.62/liter), where EVs represent only about 1% of vehicle sales, and where Tesla has established exactly three Supercharger locations.

Not convinced that Tesla is going to sell a lot of Cybertrucks in South Korea either. This is a country where only 13,954 pickups were sold in 2024 -- about 200 times lower than the 2.9 million sold in the US.

I'm sure the profit margins on the Foundation Series were sweet, but it may not be worth manufacturing the FS again for Saudi Arabia and Korea if the volumes are going to be low.

Maybe looking into the video too much, but why is the whole thing designed from the rear of the vehicle?

Focused on the SUV difference?

Or showing it’s way down the road and or will never conspire?

If Elon and Tesla's investor deck is to be believed, there will never be a CyberSUV.
