I just got the Tesla mail regarding the recall but mine are on pretty well and I'm just a little hesitant to have them touched. Anyone else in same boat?
mine are totally fine, but i have my appointment for next month. figured id do it while they install my light bar. plus im getting ready to finish wrapping the sides (did the front and back). so id rather get that done before i wrap it.

Me too. Mine is fine so I am not taking a chance for it to be messed up by a SC.

So I have an honest question because I know there are many good legal minds on here. Pure curiosity. No aspersions being cast at anyone deciding to do one thing or another whatsoever.
Let’s say there is a well known recall for something like this or some other thing that affects other road users, and that a driver has received adequate and reasonable notice of the recall but decides not to do it. Then, for the sake of argument something happens on the freeway like a cantrail flies off and causes a rollover or goes through a window and kills some thin skulled human.
Does it follow then that the driver who did not act on the recall notice is culpable for the outcome of the adverse event?
My SC said it’s not a mandatory recall.

I reluctantly got mine replaced because my Beast was in getting the light bar re-attached after the adhesive failed. They said I could decline to get them done but would have to sign to say they offered and I declined. Talk about a legal gun to my head so I did it. So annoyed as now I have wrap missing from them and have to pay to get them wrapped again with expensive PPF. I saw someone said you get a $300 credit, what is the process to get that?

also just in case folks are wondering, they wouldn’t let me keep the old ones with the wrap, so if you are attempting to salvage existing wrap you need to try and do before you go in.

Mine were fine and I had them replaced when I got the letter and parts were available. The new one started to come off so they replaced the passenger side again.

Definitely opens one up to that line of legal attack according to my attorney friends. (I always see many injury attorney billboards when I am driving the interstate roads.) This is especially true after receiving and ignoring multiple warnings that one could injure someone else. That is the reason I did it. Also I would feel responsible for taking a chance with someone else's well being on the road not knowing if my rails will fail one day in the future.
I monitor I cantrails frequently, everything is perfectly fine. They told me if I have a problem they will address it in the future still under warranty.

Is that the way they left the final install? Or is that the one that delaminated?

I made a mistake in replacing it, and now we have problems with vibration, and I feel that it will detach soon.

My SC said it’s not a mandatory recall.
My SC told me that they would permit it to be "pushed" one time, but that it is a mandatory recall, and that if you push/delay it you will be at fault

HOLD OFF!!! Mine were completely fine. I had a service for an unrelated issue with my charge port. They look awful. They also dropped the cantrail when installing or removing it and scratched the passenger window glass and plastic mirror cover. To add a cherry on top the curbed my rim pulling out of the shop. Thank god I take before and after photos. I went back to have them look at it and they scheduled me for an appointment in 1 month...

While in service for other issues they also replaced mine and they are much better than before. Only problem is the color of the new ones and the rest of 18 mo truck: how to match them?

I was so mad when the wife was telling me how the fudded up the install and told here, it's within spec. Well, last night we made a few phone calls. Sent out an email to a few regional folks asking them to take a look at the intake photos and compare to these. It's a mess. it looks worse than trim on a 1985 ford Taurus. And to think after 20K there was no issue with the originals. Both sides are a mess.

UPDATE:

My wife sent an email to the service supervisor and the regional manager asking them to compare these pictures to the intake pictures and mentioned we were not happy. Also found out that evening that the tech working on cleaning the windshield behind the front camera broke our radar detector mount. She went up to service yesterday morning to see what recourse we may have on the mount and guess who was at the service center? Basically showed them how terrible the cant rails looked. They were able to get it all lined back up. I am well pleased. About the mount, well they agreed that since no one told her about it that the supervisor will use this as a coaching moment. Sure I may be out $30 bucks, (more on this in a sec.) but the truck looks normal again. She signed a standard aftermarket waver clause. Yep so keep in mind anything aftermarket, they are not responsible. Lessen learned for us. Had I known they were cleaning the windshield in front of the cameras, I would had that already removed.
