A couple members have asked about my trucks new wheels. They are 20” Cyber Rovers (by Martian Wheels). As is usual for me, they were not exactly what I was looking for, so I ended up tweaking them a bit more to my liking. The style is very similar (if not identical) to what is on the Dodge TRX. I wanted them in dark bronze, but they were offered in a much lighter Satin Bronze (also in Satin Black and Satin Gunmetal). When they came in, I immediately disassembled and sent the actual rim portions out for aluminum oxide media blasting. These were then re-powder coated using Prismatic Colors CT Bronze powder. I left the actual bead locks in the as ordered color (Satin Gunmetal). I replaced all the black coated carbon bead lock bolts with new brushed stainless steel bolts. I also made custom CyberBeast (Cerberus) logos that were milled onto stainless steel disks (these were powder coated prior to machining). Once finished, these were then powder coated in the same satin clear as the wheels. I removed the Martian Wheels logo from the inserts and replaced them with the new custom ones (using methacrylate adhesive). I completed them by mounting a set of BF Goodrich KO3’s tires onto them.

I think they turned out really good, and were exactly the look I was going for! They have completely changed the aesthetic of the truck.

Given the Martian Wheels are identical to the OEM RAM TRX wheels, is it worth the markup considering the only difference is the offset of your going with the 18in.

You absolutely could use them, but not without accepting compromises that I was not wanting to make. While they look identical, there are definitely some physical differences. Most important to me, the OEM TRX wheels just are not available in 20". I specifically wanted 20" so that all my loose tire sets are interchangeable. I actually waited quite a while to get the 20" ones. I also actually prefer the look of the 20" rims vs. 18" rims. I know hardcore trail guys prefer 18" as they can be more supple on-air downs for large rocks, etc... I don't see me ever attempting trails like the Rubicon, so to me this slight performance advantage for extreme off-roading was immaterial. The standard OEM TRX rims come as bead-lock capable; they come with a beauty ring (just like the Bronco's wheels do). So, to have actual bead locks, you have to buy an upgrade to an actual bead lock ring (also like on the Bronco, which then adds ~$200 per wheel...the Martians come standard with a true bead lock ring). As you mentioned, the larger offset of the Martian wheel is machined directly into the wheel (+ 40mm), this pushes the tire out slightly to really enhance the look (this was purposely done by Martian for the CT for this exact purpose). You could do this with spacers (TRX have an offset of +19mm), but I don't really like using spacers (especially on an 800 HP plus vehicle). The center bore diameters are also not the same (77.8mm TRX vs. 84.1mm Martian).

I also still would have had to do the color change, as the stock TRX rims were not available in the dark bronze either. Additionally, I got a crazy good deal on a set of 5 wheels from Martian, it was Black Friday pricing, with a bonus option to get a fifth spare wheel for just an additional $100. They typically have really good deals/promotions on most major holidays.

If you really like the 18" wheels, OEM TRX's really are not a bad option to consider.

So are you saying that if I bought the TRX’s 18’s and added a spacer and a hub centric ring ( no idea how to size those but I’m sure that can be figured out) I’d basically have the Martian wheels for cheaper? Then just add tires?

Yep, 100%, and if you want true bead locks, you can upgrade to those too.

They do have some stock color combos that look good too, one with satin black wheels, and brighter rings that looked pretty good.

Pretty good find
Thanks. I mean, even if you custom powder them three striped shades of alternating high and low gloss unicorn sparkle at the most boutique powder coating facility in your city and add KO3’s and some rings and spacers and new TPMS you’re barely scratching the 4k Martian wants for them. 5k if you’re a 20” person like the OP.

Maybe I started a new trend for 18" TRX wheels! You're all welcome

But to be fair, please also realize, those at that link provided are remanufactured wheels. So, they've likely been damaged, fixed, and then refinished.

We can also find dozens and dozen's of OEM Tesla CT wheels as sets from "take off's" for similar prices. If the bar is used items, then I guess I really got taken on those wheels!

New ones from Mopar direct can be found here:

Trim Ring for 2022-2023 Ram 1500 | OEM Mopar 68600345AA | Mopar OEM Parts Counter

New OEM's (never used) for that 18" wheel are currently on sale for $964.65 (MSRP $1,490), rings
are $300.30, or combined $1264.95 per wheel, or $5,058 per set.

Hey look, I just found an actual Cyber Truck on eBay, and its super cheap, I'm thinking we all must have really gotten totally taken on ours!

See what I did there. :)

Fair. I’d be more likely to buy remanufactured wheels than a remanufactured Cybertruck but your point is well taken.
What do you think a good deal on these is? When they go on sale as you said during major holidays.

Well, I’m not sure how this occurred, but they just dropped a site wide 15% off sale today.

Literally just saw it on their site when I went to login to my profile to see my old order invoice to confirm my price from last years Black Friday sale.

Keep in mind it was a “Black Friday Sale”, and it was before all the tariff war stuff. I ended up buying them for just $800 per wheel.

This 15% site wide sale is also really good savings, I can’t comment or guess what they might do this Black Friday (?).

But 10-15% is pretty typical for them.

The added fifth wheel for only $100 is what really hooked me on last years Black Friday.

That seems like a solid deal. Can you explain again why one would choose 20” over 18”? Is it so you can use your current factory tires?
