Abe has no idea what he’s talking about. I ordered the other option that was not grayed out and then made a service appointment and then asked the SC to verify they were getting the correct parts for my build date, so that’s yet another approach to this.
I can’t tell you yet if it worked because it’s not till the 28th.

Somebody (was it @hemiarch ?) said ordering through the service center was quite a bit more expensive, like $5K or so. While still not a bad price, I’m not paying them $1,500 for their technical problems.

I notice that good old Abe didn’t offer to have you call in or email payment info so he could manually place the order and take your $3500 and it could end up in Tesla’s pocket which to me reads as, “ I’m required to tell you I’m sorry this is happening to you, but I don’t give a fuck. The app is the app and I didn’t program it. That is a different department. Hopefully with some perseverance you will find a way to make the transaction work and my employer can get your money and you can get the product, but I’ll have nothing to do with it because I wasn’t trained on this one specific situation nor did I read it verbatim in my job description”

I would call and get someone else on the phone and see if they themselves will process your purchase over the phone. Fuck Abe.

It wasn’t me but I remember that post too. As I said, sometimes with Tesla its a question of persisting until you find someone who will actually help you. I can give you a bout a dozen examples of times that has worked for me. Not all people who answer the phone are created equal there.

@RonSol since you at least have Abe, which is more than I’ve gotten so far, please keep pressing him to escalate this higher. Let him know the app is saying the package isn’t compatible with your vehicle, send him a screenshot, etc.

Maybe so. In my case it was only the earlier build date option that couldn’t be selected

Well for me, I was able to order the other option. That is why I was suggesting this. My car was built in 2024 and purchased in 2025. Not sure wha if any difference that makes but @mongo is part of this discussion so can not have enough details.

That’s what I see on both options. I took delivery in early November 2024 so I can say for sure it was built before then. I’m just thinking they told their little computer to only let FS trucks order that earlier option when, in fact, there 2 months’ worth of NFS trucks that fit into that category, the ones built from mid October to mid December.

Haha. Yes. Their little computer.
I don’t know of another solution then but to call and harass a human for this.
In the past, I’ve called the roadside number and fumbled through menus and patiently held until I got someone who claimed they were at the Tesla shop for help. That’s when I was trying to get them to replace one of the Tesla wirelsss batteries that got severely deformed on my wireless charger in the car from overheating.
They did btw send me a new one but it did the exact same thing.
