Yea you definitely want to set it so it has to request before it downloads.
I'd like to not lose the offer due to it being inconvenient at the moment.

I was out of town in Vermont in 4 degrees. Low power mode was definitely on! Wasn't going to power up the starlink to download the holiday update and then risk whatever while 500 miles away from home with 2 passengers.

... But upon returning home, update was no longer offered. What a tease!

Sorry. Wasn’t that funny. I’m just worried someone is going to go after them for this like McDonald’s about coffee in the lap.

Here's an idea - Add a choice of Handicap parking? Shouldn't be too hard to do or validate..
Good idea. Yesterday I was picking up something at a local Best Buy, and the truck did awesome navigating around the obligatory Chick-fil-A, etc. Then it had the choice of A) handicap parking, B) Curbside pickup designated spot, or C) open spots 20 feet away. It must have realized how lazy I felt and picked B) Curbside Pickup (feeling a bit guilty) I wonder how hard these types of situations are to solve? For example, "keep clear" areas or "No turn on red" at specific times.

Another hope I have, but I doubt it's in this fix, is navigation fix. It's route planning is atrocious. There are so many better / easier routes the CT can take without putting itself into unnecessary harms way... yet, it insists it wants to cross a huge artery intersection with a stop sign instead of simply turning onto the artery road earlier. It's path routing / logic is absolutely horrible.
I agree. Every Sunday since getting FSD 14 months ago my wife & I go to the same place 45 miles away where we have a standing appointment. The nav system would stay on I-5 the entire way until we got to the exit that’s only 1/2 mile or so from our destination.

But now, after the updates the nav system wants to take an exit that’s 2 miles away & the street almost parallels I-5. There street is 4-lanes & we have to negotiate at least 5 stop lights before arriving. I have no idea how FSD can possibly think the driving time will be shorter, but I can guarantee you the distance is probably shorter by only a few hundred feet at most.

So I always have to intervene and then reengage FSD after passing that exit. Works like a charm every time but why did it suddenly decide that exit is the best route?

So far, only 1 of my 4 Teslas have received the FSD 14.2.2 (Update 2025.45.5). Leaving now to test it 🤓

Is that possible? Mine is telling me to download new update and battery is draining fast while I’m out of town for 5 more days. It looks like it’ll have 8% when I get back. Not impressed with how unreliable my CT has been in this regard.
I have to physically tell it to update mine does not update by itself

I'm assuming you mean the indecisive nature of lane changes (both on highway and city streets)? If so, I agree. It really causes confusion with other road users.

Another hope I have, but I doubt it's in this fix, is navigation fix. It's route planning is atrocious. It's "funny" because if you were to tell me two years ago: what's holding FSD back now is the navigation rather than it's maneuverability, I would've pressed "X" for doubt. FSD is now so capable, navigation needs an overhaul.
I installed the newest update and tested it this AM (I hope what happened was a fluke). My truck hesitated AFTER pulling in front of an on-coming vehicle that had the right-of-way. I took full immediate control and backed up out of its path, but it was a close call. I was not expecting that. Short of that weird occurrence the update seems assured and confident.

Mine won’t download unless on WiFi and it won’t do so automatically, I have to click install. Right now it’s just slowly doing the Tesla required forced death march…it might be at 0% when I get back. Not sure what I’ll have to do if it suicides itself and leaves me with 0 battery. But I guess I’ll learn!

Im downloading now. Praying for reduction in phantom braking at night! V14 is Jekyll and Hyde. During the day it is great. At night tons of phantom braking especially when tree branches over the road shake in the wind.

Well, updated my Megatron Beast to 2025.45.5 & FSD V14.2.2...And just like my Optimus Beast after the Holiday updates (2025.44.25.5 & FSD 14.2 1.25), FSD is no longer working 😭
🎅 Tesla has given me 2 lumps of Software coal for Christmas ...
I still have 2 more shots left for redemption; my Starship Beast and my Spectra Performance. Hopefully... 🤞

Back to SC and beg for mercy😅

If that was the only hiccup, I'll take this build over the older one. My current build is a hesitation mess, along with navigation issues - it validated my thoughts too when @DirtyTesla also expressed similar concerns. Glad you're ok though, hopefully the citizens in your area are more forgiving. In Vancouver, they're less forgiving - especially when they see a Cybertruck.
