Wow. Didn't expect my truck to gain features after purchase aside from FSD improvements.
Really? Welcome to Tesla ownership as this happens all the time. Another example not related to the Cybertruck is the active matrix headlights. They have been in most of the vehicles since 2022 (I believe) but their capability is only now being turned on.

This has been thrown around a lot. And if you ask grok it says yes it does. But if force additional prompts and it looks deeper into more articles you’ll find the following facts:

Based on the latest confirmations from Tesla executives, including a correction from VP of Vehicle Engineering Lars Moravy and statements from Cybertruck Lead Engineer Wes Morrill, I can confirm the claim you read: the Cybertruck does not have matrix (adaptive) headlight hardware, and thus lacks the capability for true matrix functionality like selective pixel dimming.

Initially, there was some confusion—even from Lars himself in early 2025—suggesting it might have the hardware for a future software unlock, similar to other Tesla models (Model 3, Y, S, X). However, Lars later clarified that this was incorrect, stating the Cybertruck’s slim headlight modules simply couldn’t accommodate the matrix LED arrays. This has been echoed in owner forums, recent Tesla app updates (no matrix options appear for Cybertruck), and media reports up to 2026.

The truck does have auto high beams (which fully switch between low/high based on detected traffic), but not the advanced adaptive beam control. No hardware retrofit has been announced, and it’s unlikely given the design constraints. If Tesla changes this in future revisions, it would require new modules.

Appreciate the clarification on matrix headlights.

I think that you misread my comment. When I said “not related to the Cybertruck” I was acknowledging that the Cybertruck doesn’t have matrix headlights, but that other Tesla vehicles do and Tesla is ‘turning’ that capability on.

You’re correct I did. But I seen it thrown around a lot in this community and it was said we do have them but it appears we don’t. Which is funny because my 2023 myp definitely was built with matrix LEDs and was just waiting the software.

you would definitely think we should have had matrix LEDs but we win some we lose some.

Why do I feel after two years or so that the only feature I care is the rollout of the PowerShare with my Powerwalls? WHEN? 3 years after release? I am extremely disappointed.

Damn I thought they pushed the update out. That does suck.

According to my research yes all FS have this just not the 7 speaker base Cybertruck. It was part of the premium audio package. Based on my research
One can actually feel the microphones the head of the seat.

Looking forward to the measurement videos. Be interesting to see if these make a noticeable difference.

I think Tesla said that the CT headlights are too narrow for active matrix but it’s been a while so I don’t have the citation. I’m sure we all wish the CT had them.
