Lightbar installation - is there a new method?

Just got a message from Tesla (in the app) saying my light bar is available for installation. This is for a '24 beast, and I've been removing it from the service list every time I take it in for service for the last year or so as I never liked the glue and figured I'd wait to see what, if anything, goes wrong with the side brackets.

Did they finally come up with a more permanent mounting solution? I thought I'd heard they stopped installations again even after they added the brackets.

I've got the Mars Expedition Rack, so I'm already taking the range hit, I'm guessing. I do hope the rack and the light are compatible, though.

I received a message that my light bar is ready. Scheduled a visit on April 1st. I too have concerns about the installation method that will be used.

Per grok it doesn't interfere with the installation of a factory crossbar. Not sure how your rack installs, but it supposedly bolted on in addition to using double sided tape.

I for one think its absurd I have been waiting for well over a year for something that 'comes' with my foundation edition. I just dont get it - wish they were more transparent......

yes the new method for the 2024 FS Cyberbeast is to remove the glue from the light bar and windshield, and reinstall a new light bar using t new tabs that rivit on the outside triangle edge and use foam tape instead of silicone glue. and now we know haw many 2024 FS Cyberbeasts were built! 6,197.
The 2024 Foundation Series Cyberbeast light bar recall involves the use of incorrect primer during installation, which can cause the light bar to delaminate and detach while driving. Tesla has issued a recall for 6,197 Cybertrucks due to this issue, and owners are advised to schedule service appointments for inspection and potential replacement with mechanically bolted components. It's all about the Primer! The wrong primer used has caused glued the release.

Extra tape, glue and primer and brackets, SB2-25-90-001 is the anchoring bracket part number.
will be addressed with the service center recall.

Service centers will be receiving these brackets by March 1st, 2026.

Make an appointment with your local service center, they are also being restocked with new led lightbars.

B Pillar connections are still up in the air, most will not make the connection. legally they can't.
however, both of my Cyberbeasts the connections were made for me, Alpharetta GA and Milford CT

Get that list out of repairs and have maost o them taken care of with spring with the cantrails, and the light bar.

Do you mean they rivet to the cant rail? Do you know if they need to remove the cant rail to do the rivet? (I ask because it took an extra service visit to get my cant rails nicely aligned and I don't want them to misalign them again.)

Re: range hit with the light bar, before my installation last September I was at 416 wh/mi and I’m now up to 419 total average, looks to be trending up to 420ish so just over 1% efficiency hit (estimated)

Grok had estimated 3-8% which seemed high (and concerning) 1% I can live with not even clear it's that much. I realized how much aerodynamics matter in the CT when towing -- seems like it's the aerodynamic profile of the trailer much more than the weight (at least on flat ground) that makes such difference.

How is the light output? My understanding is it can only be used in Off-Road mode?

You can turn it on whenever. I drive down a dirt road to work and turn it on then, it’s about the brightness of the high beams but even higher, and the ditch lights (the edges of the lightbar) light up to the left and right of your doors downwards

so this has nothing t do with the cantrain, it's the access panel that's flat that runs along the upper window, the lift out the plastic cover, install a bracket to the first 10 mm bolt believe or 3/8's , then the bracket faces forward to attach to the end cap of the light bar via a rivet in the triangle end cap. i have an appointment for April 2nd to get my recall completed in Milford CT

Virtually no range from the light bar. Immaterial. Yes. It’s fully compatible with the Mars rack. I go through all kinds of detail (with pics) regarding that in my post from last year.

I didn't see your post, but I thought you got yours installed back before they added the brackets.

In any case, I see the brackets now and understand the installation.

also works amazing in the Rain and snow at night time!
