1. Ski day #1 in snowy conditions.
2. Mountain bike day #2.

Beauty of the vault is keeping expensive bikes clean while driving on slushy roads. And out of sight overnight in public garage.

Posted some of these over on the ‘what are you hauling’ thread but would share a few here as well. Have done few different trips to different sale barns and the reaction at each is hilarious. I think the farmers/ranchers love the truck more than city folk do since we can’t tear it up hunting, cutting trails, loading cattle, or just doing donuts in pastures lol.

Haha…forgot about that. I stuck it on there to get a laugh from the auction house hands. Sadly it’s back on my tractor now 🤣

This is old-growth coastal Douglas Fir died recently of natural causes. It was stressed from growing in shallow soil on top of bedrock within the zone of salt spray. It's not a very large tree for it's age, it's extremely hard and dense, more like a hardwood than a softwood. It was only about 90 feet tall when it gave up it's life last summer. It pre-dates the first Europeans in the region. I was extremely grateful for the Cybertruck easy "Entry Mode" making it less of a struggle to lift the larger rounds to tailgate height.

Douglas Fir is not a real Fir, closer to a Pine, but not that either. It has characteristics that vary widely depending upon the sub-species and also the growing conditions. There are over 100 different sub-species of Douglas Fir. I've burned this type before and it puts out incredible heat, and burns longer than many highly esteemed hardwoods, and leaves very little ash. The thick, dense bark will fall off as the wood dries, the bark also burns steady and hot for hours, it's almost like coal. Some large scale steam train aficionados burn only the bark in their boilers. This load is pushing 3000 pounds and will create a cheery warmth in my mountain cabin for months through the middle of winter.

We wore the gas engine out on this log splitter when I was a kid and my dad converted it over to an electric motor. It has been sitting in my garage for decades and now I have a portable 20amp 120v circuit that can run it with no issues. Very handy now.

Was your dad an engineer by trade too, or did he just like to tinker? I'm curious if it cycled faster with the electric motor.

Other than finding a place to store it, that's the only reason I don't have a hydraulic splitter yet, I haven't found one with a speedy enough cycle time (and still having enough pressure to go through tough rounds). I would like to see a two-speed one, with a valve that could be flipped to double the cycle time and the available pressure.

And, yeah, it has to be electric, especially now with the Cybertruck having that 40 amp 240V outlet in the bed!

It's amazing how many people don't know it has a real pickup truck bed and can pack over a ton.

That ShineBright Diamond Polish really makes it look sharp! But how come you're in extract mode? Looks kind of silly and it's a lot easier to load/unload in the lower suspension modes.
