As it's been on S/X for a while, I can't imagine they had to tweak much
Correct. Except it was called active noise cancellation and for some reason after they brought it over to the CT they renamed it which I don’t understand. It seems like a downgrade to say that it’s only there to address “road noise.”

I honestly think I would be hard pressed to think of a more boring video to watch for 20-minutes...do you happen to have a time stamp of what matters to this conversation?

See above comment about a boring video...what are scallops, or hardened round objects, and how do they have anything to do with ANC? (where supposedly the microphone is in the headset), and how do those "scallops" change/not change with the new software update?
I’ve had the ANC for a few weeks now and find no difference with it on or off.

Yesterday, I had the first noticeable difference. I kept the audio settings window open the whole time. I watched it bounce between climbing 20% calibration several times. Then starting over. Then saying music was too loud even though it was at a conversational level. But eventually it got to 100% and showed as on. And I heard the typical “pressure” of ANC being on and the road noise definitely diminished this time. I took a certain route intentionally because the road is the same kind of aged road the whole way. I notice it doesn’t work well at all when you’re going from different asphalt types, ages, conditions, etc. It definitely needs a lot of work. But at least this, in perfect conditions, I did notice a different. Hopefully future updates dial it in better.

I was gone for a week and came back. It's now on my 1955 VIN truck.

So, I happened to be in the service menu, and I noticed the speaker screen, and I was wondering, should there be speakers in the seat headrest for ARNC to work? And, what can I do in this menu? I tried adjusting the sine frequency to see if it was some kind of tone generator, but couldn't get any sound out of the truck.

The headrest has microphones, not speakers. They are supposed to listen to the road noise near your head and then the system is supposed to caculate what the other speakers are supposed to do to cancel out that sound where they are located. But in practicality, at least so far, it doesn't work.

I wouldn't say "it doesn't work".. it definitely does something according to dynamically changing messages in Audio Settings.. it's just that nobody can hear the effect of ARNR/ANC :ROFLMAO:
I would expect to notice vacuum effect in addition or instead of Noise Reduction, but nope.. :)

Question to S/X owners -how does ARNR work on X/S?

The2-3 lines of text under ARNC settings are dynamic and changing based on what ARNC is doing and environment it detects and how it affects ARNC.
I'll have to pay more attention then. I think I just see the blue button turned on when I check it, assume it's "suppposed" to be working, and don't focus on those gray lines of text... 🤔
