Sounded good at first, but risking your Tesla account/standing to earn $125 in credits?

Tesla reserves the right to revoke credits. Should that happen for any reason, we'll simply refund them.

Hey everyone

Quick note from The Tesla Ref — proud sponsors of the forum and the team that helps Tesla owners actually get their 10 annual referrals...

If you maxed out your referrals last year, here's the good news most people forget:

Tesla resets your referral counter every January. Ten new slots. $2,500 in new Supercharging / upgrade credits up for grabs.

What we've been seeing in 2026 so far
We've already helped dozens of our returning clients earn another $2,500 in Tesla credits this year — people who topped out at 10 referrals in 2025, then came back in the last few months to do it again. They've all been maxed out again on referral credits.

Many of these clients are owners from this very forum.

What's in the program for Cybertruck referrers right now (US)
  • $250 in Tesla credits for every qualifying delivery — referrer side
  • 3 months of free Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for the buyer
  • 10 successful referrals per calendar year cap (maybe they will give a bonus in the fall like they did in 2024!)
Why sharing is harder than it used to be
Instagram caption drops and Reddit replies don't move the needle. Posting your referral code on social is like a needle in a haystack. Let us take care of getting your referrals on your behalf!

Here's how The Tesla Ref works:
  • Sign up on our site and give us your code.
  • We use our network to find Tesla buyers in need of a referral code. We give them yours
  • You get the $250 credit per referral. We get a flat fee per referral made.
The 2026 window is wide open
Eight months left in the year. Tesla sales are heating back up in Q2 (Europe alone is up triple-digits YoY in March), with lots of buyers looking for codes. Tesla could cancel anytime, so get your credits sooner than later.

How to get started
Easy. Go to https://theteslaref.com/ and sign up. Enter your referral code. Wait for us to do our magic and watch the benefits roll in.

We guarantee every referral. If a buyer cancels, we backfill it for free. No sweat.

Questions? Ask us here and we'll reply.

So I’m a returning customer and when I try and enter my card Info it says it’s been declined. This is the case for more than one card. What do I need to do to renew my service ?

Sorry to hear you had issues adding the card, but it looks like your last attempt worked! If you still need help for anything, DM us or email us at support.

I gave this a shot, used a new account in case Tesla banned this somehow. So far I have gotten 2000 credits, which means 1000 in reality. It is legitimately working.

Only part that sucks is credits are limited to Tesla shop item, and not gift cards or charging hardware.

I think this is a great for tires - 👍
I thought you could use it for supercharging? But you can’t do that if you use a burner account. Right?

I’m surprised Doc you’re generally so cautious. After all you literally just locked down your OME Light bar and I’m still free balling it out here. But this one troubles me. Why not you?

fair point @dalton108 , there are aspects of my life when I am to the other extreme an avid risk taker but not usually with this stuff. Very cautious as you say.
I tried it. Didn’t feel I had anything to lose. Used a throw away credit card with nothing else on it. They did what they said they would.
I was very surprised Tesla didn’t mind it when I paid for a new set of tires for the x with those credits. They didn’t.
It rang all sorts of alarm bells for me but I’d be disingenuous if I didn’t share with the community that it does work. What ultimately persuaded me to do it was watching a close friend do it.

They do work on supercharging, but you are correct on not being able to use it with a burner account. Is it possible to switch Tesla accounts before plugging into charger with same vehicle?
