the only thing I'd consider is a great HUD display ( one day?).. or some really slick manual controls that enable FAST control of certain settings.

Arguably you'd want speed and turn signals etc in front of you to minimize distractions from the road ahead, however, that's not really my use case. My use case is to run Waze and Android Auto, anything else is a nice-to-have for me. I also don't want a magnet8c phone holder on my main screen which is just personal preference.

Make no mistake these screens still need improvement but I was willing to install one to create and article and do a full review of what works and what doesn't. All the other reviews I watched out there skipped over the items that don't work or only partially work.

You mentioned some fast controls, I am going to tinker with Gemini commands to see what sort of things I can achieve with that. I don't have a full Google home but I do have Nest thermostats so conceivably I could have Gemini trigger commands for those through Android Auto. I agree that these screens need more functionality on their own through OTA updates. I need to track down someone to talk to about that.

I think you'll be waiting a long time as Tesla has said in the past they are not giving access to their cameras.

I came from an x plaid and miss having the screen in front. Best use case is fsd animations and the main screen is a full map and audio. But can't do that with these screens.
