White or grey interior?
White! Which is what we actually wanted so we’re happy. Gonna go down the cashiers check route I think but would love to get confirmation this is ok? The app puts the fear in you by saying the delivery will be delayed.

I was so scared I was ready to wire transfer my final payment, even though I couldn't find my vin. Finally I went to Tesla.com website, went into my account and saw the vin number at 11:00 pm, June 4, 2024. All day I was looking in my Tesla app, which was requesting the final payment and could not communicate with a Tesla advisor.
Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences.

TWO PART QUESTION.

Is the VIN the number directly below your order number at Tesla.com account? I had the same thing happen to me just now seeing that I finally had a VIN on the website.

I have finished every step in the app and the only thing left is “schedule delivery date”, “review agreement” and “delivery day”, it has been over 2 weeks waiting on one of them to allow me to continue but no luck. Has anyone had this problem and know the general wait time for this step to finish?

Congrats! I ordered on May 29th and got my VIN 2 days later. Expecting delivery in the next week most likely. I’m planning on bringing a cashiers check on delivery day. I’ve done this on my previous 2 Teslas and never had any problems or delays. I stopped by the delivery center today just to let them know. There happened to be 2 couples there trying to take delivery of their vehicles but were having troubles with their banks wiring over funds correctly. It can be a stressful last stretch for sure!

Thanks!! Got to make arrangements now to make this happen. Is the cashiers check made out to Tesla or Tesla Financial Services? Anything else I should keep in mind. Gonna try and get a hold of someone today.

Yes, my VIN is directly below my order number. What’s left for me is “make final payment”, “review agreement”, and “schedule delivery”. It’s been like this since I first saw my VIN and I anticipate it being like this for at least a week or two based on the stats on this forum.

Placed the order the second I got the invite and I just logged into my account and saw that I have a vin. Does this mean we will be getting the car soon?

The delivery tasks next step is asking me to provide final payment. Definitely don’t want to do this if we are going to wait another 2-3 months.

How soon in advance/when did you all put down the final payment?
I’m bringing a check from Navy Federal and a cashiers check from my bank when I pick mine up. You don’t have to pay until after you’ve inspected the vehicle.

You’ll want it made out to “Tesla Motors Inc”. And in the Memo line, include your full name and RN number. Picking up my truck this Friday ??

They dropped 'Motors' a long time ago.
It is 'Tesla, Inc'.
Just use Plaid, why bother wasting an hour or 2 going to a bank and paying for an old fashioned check?

Did paying with the two check method work? I was planning on similar but i read on the faq the following…

Note: The total amount for your final payment must come from a single account.

Yup, they didn't have any issues with it. That's really strange for them to "require" that. I would think most people put some sort of cash down payment and get a loan for the rest.

Yea, I realized they dropped “Motors” but my delivery advisor asked me to include it for some reason. I prefer the cashiers check as I can look over the vehicle before handing over any money. Took all but 10 minutes to get one from my bank a block away from Tesla but to each their own.

Sounds like it's coming very soon. My delivery was 4 days after VIN. I'd at least get the money you need in your bank account

A few months ago VIN-to-delivery was roughly 2-3 weeks tops. Recent reportings seem to be around 7-10 days.
For deliveries to the northeast it’s more like five weeks (or longer) from VIN to delivery. I’ve been waiting for five weeks and still they don’t have a clue on when it’s going to be delivered due to “train delays” in Texas.

Also, do not make any payments until you have verified the truck is sitting in their lot and for sure don’t pay before your delivery day. They’ve moved my CT delivery date out two times, they have no clue what the new delivery date is, and like an idiot I had already paid in full based on Tesla telling me the delivery was going to be in early May.
