Wait, didn’t Motor Trend get 2.5 seconds with the CyberBeast? And that was with the regular off-road tires. If they use street tires like the Rivian it would likely be even faster.

While we don't have all the specs, configurations and prices yet. It can be assumed based on the current Quad motor, that the new Quad motor will only do 2.4s 0-60 on sticky summer only tires. The Tri-motor does it on A/T tires, and will probably do it faster on summer tires. Not defending or dismissing. Just trying to compare apples to apples.

I mean, its still batshit fast any way you slice it and congrats to Rivian. I do really hope they're no longer loosing money on every truck sold after this update. So they can survive long term.
I really wish someone with a Beast would test that theory.

Being a future CB owner, it kind of sucks that the fugly Rivian is going to beat the CB by 0.1 second to 60. However, honestly, I don’t care. The CB still achieved 2.6 with three motors and smaller battery, while the Rivian has four and probably a battery that is twice the capacity that the CB has. That’s not an achievement that’s just adding more. What Tesla did is an engineering feat. Kind of ticks me off where critics online and influencers like to compare the Cybertruck with the Rivian, Hummer and the new Silverado in that it can’t go further or in this case quicker. They need to do equal comparisons. If the Cybertruck had the same size batteries as the others have and four motors, it would probably go further (e.g. 500+ miles) and much quicker (e.g. Plaid quick). The only downside of doing this is that it would probably weigh as much as the Hummer. At the end of the day, 2.6 or 2.5 is super quick. Most of us and even people who buy the Rivian will try this several times and not do it again. It’s a party trick and it gets old really quick, no pun intended. Now, to be fair, there’s one thing that I like about the Rivian, it has a screen in front of driver. Something I wish Tesla should’ve have done. Like they did for the S and X. Or at least a HUD.

I'm have owned a total of 3 Rivians, currently has 2 sitting in my garage. I'm also an early Rivian IPO investor and currently stock holder. I'm also a Tesla investor, currently own a Cyberbeast and the refreshed M3 P. With that disclosure out of the way, correct me if I'm wrong y'all, I think Tesla's 0-60 times were performed on 35in AT tires on 20in rims where as Rivian's time were achieved using low profile, performance street oriented tires on 22in rims. Let's see what Rivian's time will be if they put on a set of 35in AT tires on 20in rims.

If I wanted a Tacoma, I’d order one, electrified (Rivian) or gas (Toyota). At 6’2”, they just don’t work for me in comfort and the Rivian is a Tacoma sized truck. Quite happy with my AWD CT. At some point I wonder if 0-60 will ever be like, meh. 1.99 in my Plaid S; can’t hardly grip on all that power any how. I’d love more range on the CT though, who wouldn’t. Looking forward to seeing the stats on the battery pack.

Did they? I didn't watch their videos. The articles look like they're just misquoting

No reason to get a super fast truck if you have a plaid.

I'm gonna watch used plaid X prices and get a dual motor truck

Isn’t the X considered a car?
