Anyone else also received the email for free supercharge credit for a year? How does it work and does it start the day of receiving the email?

What are they giving you free supercharging for?

I had this in my model 3. It appeared in my loot box a few weeks later.

Is it through a certified installer or is it Tesla doing the install directly?

I keep getting delays regarding permitting through the county/city from my certified installer. I have already paid the $300 deposit back in April, took delivery of the truck in May, and now we are in the middle of June.

According to Pacific Gas & Electric, 1 in 6 Tesla’s sold in the United States are sold into their service territory. So I was surprised to get this letter yesterday from Tesla regarding my PowerShare Backup Gateway, Backup Switch and Universal Wall Charger that has already been installed (March 2024).

The Universal Wall Charger works, the Tesla Backup Switch is the only step remaining and is hanging on the side waiting for PG&E to complete the installation.

I got two emails within seconds of each other at 5:00 pm yesterday. The interesting thing is that I never had to pay the company who did the install, because the installation final step was never completed.

Any thoughts, especially the offer to “redesign” the PowerShare installation. I am not sure what that means. According to the installation company here in the Bay Area, excluding Tesla employees, I was the 2nd install in the SF Bay Area.

I had to pay in full once the installation is complete. According to the installer the remaining issues are with Tesla and electric provider.

I got the same emails. Not sure what the second option is either. Why was there even a switch involved if it could have been handled without it? Does it offer any advantages? The Tesla store seems to sell it without it now.

The second option, for me, was $1,000 more. It involved moving up to 8 120v circuits to a separate panel, and powershare would only power those. Using the backup switch was cheaper and the entire house would be powered. I don't understand the technical difference.

I got my wall charger and gateway installed. The installer has been waiting for the backup switch to be sent to them so they can finish the job. I got the email yesterday too. The backup switch is approved to use by powerwall, but I'm guessing PG&E needs to review usage with powershare.

I tested supercharging today and I got charged according to the app. I'll see if it actually charges my card tomorrow. It would be nice to see somewhere that we have free supercharging until a specific date. Time to plan a road trip :)

Most power backup systems as I understand them offer the option to pick 6 to 10 of your favorite circuits for backup power. I always thought this was daft and wanted exactly what Tesla offered, which is a full house backup, opening the power feed to the house behind the meter. I was told this approach is approved in other power company jurisdictions, but PG&e is evil. I can see some concern about having to manage power, especially if you've got a bunch of high power 240 volt loads, but I sure hope PG&e gets off their ass and approves it because it is miles better than having to pick something like 25% of your circuits.

BTW mine still says "pay as you go" under specs and warranty as well but if they charge me I will just have them reverse the charges. I don't see any reason to wait.
