It is not just cybertruck, anything EV seems to bring out the Eddie-the-experts. Also, this kind of thing seldom happened when pre-Twitter takeover. The Elon tax is real.
Yeah.

I have been told so many times my Zero is sooo dangerous because you can whiskey-throttle it and the torque will keep the wheel slipping. You know, like on any liter bike.

Or that I'll be electrocuted in the rain.

Or that it'll catch fire.

Or whatever.

What stinks is forums like this and teslamotors.com for which I don't even bother to visit anymore get corrupted by the debbie down and negative nancy crews and a whole lot of ignorant opinions. Really takes the fun out of it.
I agree. I found Tesla motors to be atrociously negative. .. I find this place is better and has some really good threads.. also, my ignore list has been a lifesaver.. negative and ignorant? Ignore.

Today at Home Depot while loading PVC into the bed. Late 20s dude rolls by in his beat up Tacoma and rolls down tlhis window "Do you regret getting the truck yet?" I emphatically said "not for a second." he rolled his eyes and uttered "alllriight" and kept on driving.

Seems like ever since I got my Cybertruck, a lot of my acquaintances suddenly have become experts about the Cybertruck. One specific friend keeps showing me threads from a subreddit called Cyberstuck and at first I asked why was he so interested in these posts when he doesn't own a Cybertruck. Then he continues to show me different posts from that thread. Now I just put a laughing emote at everything he shares. At first I didn't care but now its starting to get annoying. It's my first time owning an EV and this attention is crazy. Anyone have a similar experience like this?
Your friend is an asshole.

I dont dwell on it too much to be honest, if someone says anything negative I usually throw a one liner at em.. Different strokes for different folks..

90% of my interactions have been positive, people just being intrigued.
I agree, if someone says it is ugly/stupid/waste of money, I say that's ok, I didn't buy it for you! They are silent from then on...

I have had my AWD for 1 week (since last Sunday) and after waiting since 11/30/2019, I couldn't be happier, I think the Cybertruck is perfect for my everyday driving, towing and short trips I do on a daily/weekly basis with-out even charging away from home and so far, I have had mostly positive reactions from drivers and spectators about it and I don't even care about the negative reactions, you tube videos and/or google news about it because if you have one and you are happy with it who gives a 5h!t about a person that has no idea what they are talking about thinks.
We all know the Truck is Bad ASS and like politics there are going to be haters that are either blind or asleep most of the time and have nothing positive to say about something they have no idea about!

Haters are are typically obsessed with the thing they hate because it makes them feel something inside that's personally emotionally complex - intrigue, jealousy, etc. Unfortunately, those people have too much maturity to overcome that you won't be able to explain that to them.

My message to all haters - go obsess over something you like. The endorphins you get from obsessively liking something are way better than the cheap endorphins you get from raging over something. Cybertruck is one example where this community has had so much joy following it. Taylor Swift is another good other example. She's getting too much news coverage? Move on and don't pay attention.... Let her fans enjoy her and go focus on things you like.

On a design front, I remember detesting the look of AirPods and the BMW i3. I grew to appreciate both. Good design is sometimes initially unsettling because you don't know how to feel and so you immediately associate that feeling with not liking it. Funny enough the i3 subreddit is full of obsessive CT haters lacking self awareness lol).

Yep. I had the same thing. Life is full of jerks. Your job is to not let them get to you. Ignore all of it and keep a very centered approach on the things that matter to you. Ignore them. They will never in their life have 100k to spend on a truck so they trash talk it. I have lost two friends so far.

It’s a Reddit thing. High percentage of Musk haters and that seems to drive them. Vroom vroom. Facebook tends to be full of petrol heads who are worried about the grid. (Ignoring the fact that charging at home takes a controllable amperage that doesn’t exceed an electric dryer. I have 6kw of solar panels on my roof that provide most of my power.
On the road the amount of positive affirmation is astounding.

The energy non-cyber owners put into hating the truck is comical. I always ask them why they are so worried about it and ask what their car does mine doesn't. Usually quiets them up. These people upset are seriously unhinged.
