Next time, remove the butt hitch cover and peep inside, it's like a colonoscopy, there is like a whole other ecosystem down there! A giant cavern just behind the hitch; you can see the rear mega casting, suspension components, wiring harness, underbody belly pan. Great hiding place for possums, raccoons, rats, mice, snakes, cats, dogs, squirrels, Pikachu... ?

Addendum: Will someone please design a 3D printed back plate to cover the cavern ?

it would be cool to create a waterproof lockbox that fits in there

And that is why they didn't just port FSD to the Cybertruck upon release without doing more development work using a ton of Cybertruck video data to calibrate the software for Cybertruck duty.

I'm sure they are also working on the control side to calibrate that to rear-wheel steering.

I occasionally see glitches in my Model 3's renderings, but not like that!

This photo does not depict Tent Mode, it's an example of how the Cybertruck automatically self-levels when in off-road modes whenever it's put in Park.

It looks peaceful now, but I wonder if Mt. Baker will blow in my lifetime. Volcanologists say this valley is in the danger zone. It could experience lava flows, pyroclastic flows, tephra falls, lahars, heavy ashfall and flanks failures. When Mt. St. Helens erupted, ICE cars were incapacitated in the ash zone that extended hundreds of miles from the volcano. A car could become disabled within 5 minutes or less. People had to abandon their cars on the side of the highways and walk through the ashfall. Even days after the eruption ICE cars could not travel on the ash covered roads because vehicles would stir up the ash and plug the air filters causing the engines to die. This is not a problem for electric vehicles (although the cabin air supply could become restricted).

Tephra falls are ash and rock ejecta raining down on the surrounding area during volcanic eruptions. A pyroclastic flow is a hot (typically >800 °C, or >1,500 °F ), chaotic mixture of rock fragments, gas, and ash that travels rapidly (up to 200 mph) away from a volcanic vent or collapsing flow front. Pyroclastic flows can be extremely destructive and deadly because of their high temperature and mobility.

Lahars are flows of melted ice, mud and debris that flow downhill from the eruption. They can take out bridges and mow down pretty much anything in their path.

In the unlikely event of an eruption, I can think of no better vehicle to be in than a Cybertruck for the following reasons:

1) It's capable of traversing backcountry roads extremely rapidly due to it's large travel suspension, high ground clearance, 35" tires and low center of gravity providing good handling at speed. Hightailing it out of the danger zone ASAP is your best chance for survival.

2) Cabin Air Filtration. The Cybertruck has a large HEPA filter of an updraft design. I'm guessing if the fan speed is set to low it will be more resistant to plugging than typical automotive cabin filters, especially downdraft filters like My Mazda had. I would not use Bio-Defense mode because the high fan speed would accelerate filter plugging.

3) No engine air filter to plug and leave the vehicle disabled.

4) Tough exterior for the best chances of resisting ejecta that can travel miles and rain down from the sky.

5) Awesome stereo so you can rock out during your escape. If you don't make it, at least you will have enjoyed the effort! ?

It's likely the stratovolcano will give plenty of warning before a major eruption, but it never hurts to be prepared!

took the CT down some Central PA rough track today, and it was pretty damn good. Way better than the other truck with us (Ram 1500) — and this is a trail I’ve been up and down a hundred times - I’m extremely happy with its performance. 20° incline at many parts!

Nice! Have you noticed that no matter who you get behind on a rugged backcountry single lane road, they are going far slower than the pace that feels natural and relaxing in the Cybertruck? They are not going slow because the hazards are so big they threaten to bottom out, it's because it feels like their rig is getting shaken to bits if they go any faster. It's shocking how slow they go on some relatively smooth sections. Yeah, that was me too, until I got my Cybertruck!

Camping at Twin Lakes yesterday. Had hot cafe lattes as the sun rose over the alpine lakes and then cooked bacon crispy brown in a toaster oven (worked great) and fried eggs in a frying pan. Made popcorn over a wood fire the night before.

There were six or seven other parties camping, all in high-clearance rigs capable of getting up the rugged road to the lakes. Two of them expressed surprise that I could make it up in a Cybertruck..... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Cybertruck is like a mountain goat! While climbing the steep grades I pulled over at a wide spot in the road and could hear the ICE rigs, tires scrabbling for traction on the loose rock, making quite a racket two switchbacks below. Cybertruck climbed it sure-footed, without tearing up the trail like the ICE 4WD were.

One of them noted their gas tank level had dropped rapidly due to climbing the rugged grades at such slow speed, fully laden, and wanted to know how my battery was doing. I said it wasn't a problem, I had only charged to 70% before departing from home and wasn't planning on having to conserve. When I got back home yesterday, I noted I had only used 15% of its capacity.

That includes running a 1400 watt toaster oven for the better part of an hour and brewing 6 shots of espresso, and frothing milk for the lattes. Days are still very long this far north, no need for camp lights. I was here 15 days ago and there was still 6 feet of undriveable snowpack, covering everything, the lakes were filled with ice. All that remained were a few snowfields on steep slopes with northern exposure. Summer happens suddenly in the high-country.

Dick's is the place where the cool hang out!
... and not a single Sir Mix A Lot fan in the group? Shame... Or, young, I suppose.

Now the posse's gettin' hungry, and Mix-A-Lot's treatin'
We stopped at Taco Bell, for some Mexican eatin'
But Taco Bell was closed, the girls was on my tip
They said, "Go back the other way, we'll stop and eat at Dick's"

Dick's is the place where the cool hang out
The swass like to play, and the rich flaunt clout
Posse to the burger stand, so big we walk in twos
We're gettin' dirty looks, from those other sucka crews

Kid Sensation dropped a twenty, and didn't even miss it
Skeeza from anotha' crew, she picked it up and kissed it
Her boyfriend's illin', he went to slap her face
My homeboy P.L.B. col' sprayed the boy with mace

'Cause I never liked a punk, who beat up on his girl
If you don't have game, then let her leave your world
We took his girl with us, with him she rode the bus
She gave the boy the finga', and the sucka starts to cuss

Boy, I gotta def posse, you gotta bunch of dudes
You're broke col' cryin' 'bout the rock-man blues
You beat up on your girl, and now you're all upset
She's with the Mix-A-Lot posse, on the Broadway set
My posse's on Broadway

And that took me back to days cruising in my '65 Mustang...
