One pedal driving is absolutely awesome…. ICE cars feel so strange and archaic having to use brakes so oftenI think that you need to go back to the learning board.
Brakes do not use regen.
A little hint is on the Energy screen is the number of miles that you would have saved if you didn't use the brakes.
You human reaction story is a little flawed. If you want to go there, then you forget that the human reaction is NOT to take the foot off the accelerator, it's to hit the brakes!
But the simple act of taking your foot off the accelerator, if you are on ice, is still enough to break the traction.
But let me one-up you on that. Tesla's traction control is, I dare say, the best on the market.
There was a video from a few year ago of a gentleman, flooring his Model 3 in the snow. He floored it and the car extremely slowly started moving. You could see the micro-movements that the traction control was doing. If the car feels a loss of traction, it's going to work to get it back.
But you've got an ICE brain that needs to relax and give into the force. After driving with regen, you'll find out how easy and natural it actually is. It's much more like a joystick and becomes really natural with a little experience.
