Yes, it is soft. Very soft. Going off road is murder on the plastic flares. I plan on replacing plastic trim at some point, hopefully with a harder plastic when Tesla wakes up to this embarrassment.
Thank you. It is piss poor for this price point.

There is no “coating” ok? This is shit plastic.
No. No coating will solve this.
I think you miss understood me. I implied that a bedliner coating should be added. Yes a bedliner coating would solve this issue. You can argue that it shouldnt be needed, and I agree, but it is a solution. As well as other aftermarket solutions, like metal bumpers and trim.

Watermelon dropped from 148 feet with a Line X coating survives.

@Pops is suggesting to put a bedliner coating onto the plastic trim pieces. For example, remove the trim, spray on a bedliner coating (such as Line-X), then reinstall.

Hope this helps to clarify!

So it is our problem? The material is crap and unusually crappy. It is the user inputs and critique to make it better for the next person and not spray your truck with bedliner to make it better.

No, you are correct to be upset. I am just suggesting a solution that is cheap and easy if you already scratched the trim.
