Number 1: Sentry mode was enabled on the CyberTruck. That is where the video was obtained from. The last 10 minutes of video were saved from the incident moment.

Number 2: The alarm system of the CyberTruck requires forced entry from the door to activate the horn, alarm, etc. Sentry mode is silent. Read the manuel.

"The vehicle security system activates when Cybertruck does not detect an authenticated phone or key and:
  • A locked door is opened
  • The locked tailgate is opened
  • The powered front trunk is opened
When your vehicle detects this, the siren sounds, headlights and turn signals flash, and you receive a notification on your mobile app that the security alarm is triggered. To deactivate the alarm, press any button on the mobile app or tap your key card against the card reader located on the driver's side door pillar."

Number 3: The theives were apparently in a stolen car and could not restart the car easily after letting it die. For God's sake listen to the video of the officer talking to the CyberTruck owner as they watch the Sentry video.

Number 4: The *Extract Mode" comment and idea is on point. I do it when I park not with an eye to preventing break-in, but, to prevent people from pressing up against my window looking inside and leaving sweat stains all over the side and on the glass. It would have made it more difficult to look inside for these guys and certainly discouraged the event.

Number 5: Finally, I'm becoming very disappointed in this forum. Once upon a time it was just the people who reserved a CyberTruck, were excited to receive their CyberTruck, were showing their wraps, wheels, and ideas for customizing their CyberTruck. Were helping to trouble shoot issues with their CyberTruck or providing information on how to deal with Tesla. Currently, I'm watching it fill with "Trolls", "Haters", and some of the "Dumbest" people with a keyboard and internet connection I've ever seen.
Here's the latest posts. You are just clicking on the ones that appear to be trolls haters or dumb people. If everyone else is dumb, what does that make you?

Subpoena the cell service records of that area and timeframe; the vast majority of criminals carry their phones in their pockets while committing crimes.

Carriers can generally pinpoint a very small footprint too, so it will likely result in an exact match.

The thieves were so incredibly stupid, they didn't even think to cover their face and license plate. Annoying that they didn't have a front plate!
They don't really have to do that these days since he is very likely to be released within an hour of being apprehended. Functionally speaking, we don't have "the rule of law" in this country anymore.

Observant.
Takes a special person to be wrong at using their eyes. People still know how to count in Alabama right (stereotypes)? Go ahead and count the number of threads here that match what you say (the forum before and and your current delusions). I'm not waiting, the counting thing is up for debate, as are your observation skills.

I didn’t watch the video in the thread. My fault. I read a story that said sentry was not active.

I like this security idea. If you have installed this can you please explain how this could work for the CT? Also how can it be disabled before entering the vehicle? Or is this just for laughs?

If someone wants to get into somewhere...anywhere, and they have time and effort, they'll get in. So sorry this happened to you! Hopefully Tesla has the side window glass in stock and get you back on the road ASAP.

BTW, I know criminals aren't the brightest, but does anyone know why, after they stole the backpack, they stayed in their parking spot an extra minute before leaving? Seemed extra stupid. It was also a nice touch that the driver had a mask, but the actual person who broke in was clear faced lol. I hope they find them!
Exactly... It's almost like people intent on causing violence, doesn't matter how many tools you take a way, the person has the intent. It's almost as if criminals are gonna criminal...

I can get into nearly any car with a screwdriver, plastic wedge, and coat hanger without an alarm going off (unlocking before opening disables the alarm). The CT definitely has the ability to set off the alarm with the internal camera (doors are locked, sentry mode on, and an image analysis of motion), but if San Francisco is any indication, brazen car theft pretty much goes uninvestigated unless you are Mark Rober.

Exactly the reason why I Limo tinted my cyber beast. If they can’t see it they’ll just move along. I’ve been in the car and people have been trying to look in the car with me in it and can’t see me.? Sorry for loss though.
Curious, how does that super dark tint affect your visibility out when driving at night or in low light conditions?? thanks
