I'm becoming very disappointed in this forum. Once upon a time it was just the people who reserved a CyberTruck, were excited to receive their CyberTruck, were showing their wraps, wheels, and ideas for customizing their CyberTruck. Were helping to trouble shoot issues with their CyberTruck or providing information on how to deal with Tesla. Currently, I'm watching it fill with "Trolls", "Haters", and some of the "Dumbest" people with a keyboard and internet connection I've ever seen.
Ain't that the truth! They even use the misfortune of an auto burglary to throw shade on the Cybertruck, as if they expected it to be an impenetrable bank vault that you couldn't get into without a case of dynamite or something.

I don't understand completely if it is an organized "disinformation/sensationalized" collective or just that after the CyberTruck finally got out in the wild the trolls showed up in mass? There are quite a few more posting than back in January-March when everyone was enjoying the people receiving their's and waiting anxiously for our own. I miss the fun and helpful posts without the tolling in every thread.

You guys might've brought this up already. I've been out of the loop a bit. But just in case.

I think there are more AI bots programmed to throw shade now then in January. Most of them are not very smart though, so maybe they are actually live humans working it, I don't know.

It probably took a while for the anti-Tesla forces to get their shit together, many of them were convinced the Cybertruck would be a flop that wouldn't require a concerted effort to thow shade on it. But when it was released to ordinary reservationists, and people started finding out how revolutionary it really was, they scrambled harder to try to make it look bad. A real rust bucket, upper A-arms that will snap when you hit a pothole, difficult to care for the stainless steel, etc, etc, etc.

The mods have a big job, that's for sure.

It definitely has been increasing as this website becomes the "Go To" for CyberTruck News, interesting mods, and wrecks. You see the links to CyberTruckOwnersClub everywhere including very negative Elon, Tesla, and All-Electric Vehicle sites. Once upon a time I had my own website and the trolling, DOS attacks, etc. proved to be more than I was willing to put up with. That was in the early days of the internet before monitized ads made it worthwhile to suffer or take control of. Good administrators are important for forums like this to flourish and remain positive when the trolls arrive.

I do not recall him promising that there would be no way to get into the Cybertruck, and Tesla has certainly made it more difficult than most other cars.
Which is why I said what I said instead of “he promised that there would be no way to get in it.” ?

But there’s a chasm between being “ready for the apocalypse” and getting owned while sitting in a mall parking lot.

Pretty much the same thing fire departments do to gain access through the windshield. The only difference is the top of the window isn't secured to the body.

There is a huge difference to how almost all windshields are attached compared to side windows on Cybertruck.

Windshields are glued to body at all sides including top and both sides.

Cybertruck retractable door side windows are only attached at bottom.

Vehicles used to have much better security for retractable windows. When closed the windows had full frame around sides and top of window. Much harder to pull out the glass.

Just like the Elon's promotion of doors being bullet resistant is majorly compromised by half the door being vulnerable glass windows.

At 2019 Cybertruck reveal event, after Franz easily cracked/broke both windows with the steel ball, Elon boasted that the cracking/breaks were not important because the ball did not go through.

Well, just like near worthless bullet protection, looks like even in Georgia, most any even skinny burglar/thief can pop out Cybertruck door window glass.

A puncture resistant glass window is easily defeated it it is NOT secured properly. When closed it should at minimum be secured at top and bottom but a full frame really should be used.

Look at most Ford F-series, Chevy Silverado, Nissan Titan pickup truck doors or even the doors on uni-body style frame Honda Ridgeline pickup. They have full frames for the door window glass.

If there was an apocalypse, anyone listening to Elon that Cybertruck to best protection is a fool.

Instead of Cybertruck being Elon's "leader in apocalypse technology", the Cybertruck can be punked by most any skinny burglar/thief.

-------------------------------------------

partial transcript:

Jay Leno: why is that important to you that it'd be bulletproof?

Elon: it was badass super cool

Elon: do you want your truck to be bulletproof or not

Elon: exactly but you know just never know when the apocalypse comes
should be glad as well for you we want to be a leader in apocalypse technology

I did mean to say unattached at top AND SIDES. You're quite right that unframed windows are easy to pull out to unlock. Much easier than full frame windows. Using firefighter tools to unlock a frameless window is generally much easier than a full frame window. Some good observations about the limitations of the CT.

(Only comment I have is that I wouldn't want anything but frameless for my cars, especially my sports car.)

For vehicles that are permanent full roof (non-convertibles and non-T top), why would you choose frame-less doors?

For the looks and the ability to put the windows down without a B pillar. It's the difference between the '60s coupes and sedans and their hardtop equivalents.
