Whoah, did Teslascope add Cybertruck to the list of models overnight? I distinctly remember being frustrated last night after seeing the first X post about 2024.32.5 that Teslascope still hadn’t added it as a model, but I see it this morning!

has anyone on this site actually downloaded auto park for cybertruck yet?
I would like to hear from anyone if it’s for real or still vaporware.
Thanks!

Not fair comparison

1. The old “Dealership Experience “ is haggling over price AND unpredictable future pricing changes.

2. Either way (dealer or direct) you always have possibility of large swings in real final price and also unknown real deprecation because market supply vs demand IS the real final arbiter.
Ever try buying an in-demand model from a dealership? The dealership will tack on fees that make Tesla price changes look like peanuts by comparison.

While I was, at first, going to agree as I've seen that before... But, I ordered a Ford Maverick Hybrid truck back in 2022... Waited a year to get it because of demand and the only thing that happened price-wise was the dealership offering to buy it from me immediately. I ended up paying MSRP for a very in-demand vehicle from Ford.

That probably isn't always the case, but I didn't pay any kind of dealership markup and just paid like a $250 delivery fee.

Liking the autopark so far. Here is how it portrays metal wire mesh fence

Lots of confusion between park assist and autopark on this forum. This looks like park assist not autopark. Correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't seen all the graphics for autopark. As of right now autopark 2024.32.5 has only gone out to early access program testers .

2024.26.11 = Park Assist
2024.32.5 = Autopark

Is that autopark or park assist? Kinda looks like the latter
Haven't seen it on CT yet, but on other Teslas, you see the target parking space outline

This looks like the heat map in park assist buy maybe not.

This is autopark. 2024.32.5
So you already have it or are those graphics someone else's? All the graphics I've seen in the older autopark and the latest videos show the overhead view pulling into the parking slot.

I dont use "someone else's" graphic, I took the picture after completed autopark (yes, I already have it). I was just surprised by the way it rendered metal mesh fence.
Kewl! So are you part of the early release group? If not you're the first one I've seen with it in the wild.

I love your subjective view, very 'clear'. I hope that you aren't an engineer because 'crap' is not a very objective evaluation. What does 'high fidelity' mean to you? It has certainly changed over the years. What was considered high fidelity sound or television when I was a kid would not even be considered listenable/watchable today. It is a moving target. Maybe Tesla only meant that it is based on input from hi-definition cameras. What we know is that it isn't 'high fidelity' to you, but not what your definition is either.

Tesla's object collision imagery, I believe, is more point cloud based, so it is not intended to be photo realistic. Your comment about it warning you to stop 'way before you would normally stop' is also vague. I agree that the warnings are not accurate, but they are inaccurate erring on the side of safety. I assume that with more data from the fleet that they will hone the warnings to be accurate on the inch level. Don't you? Is everything perfect or crap to you?

I do not understand your comment about the user interface. The park assist is only supposed to show what is around the car that you might drive into, not what it is. Do you need it to be photo realistic or would you just want to avoid hitting it? You can see what it thinks is close on the screen and it has audible warnings too. What could be more user friendly than that? Do you want to have a conversation with it?

Sometime soon hopefully we 'will' have autopark and then you can begin your tirade anew with how crappy that is.
I beg to differ regarding high-fidelity. A large segment of audiophiles consider the quality of vinyl recordings from the 50's and 60's superior to most of what else we listen to today, much of the equipment as well.

The puffy clouds around park assist might be more convincingly "high-fidelity" if they didn't morph and waver.

Agree, fidelity meaning exactness is hardly high with park assist, if anything it is less and blurry, and just a rough estimate. High fidelity for parking assist would be with ultrasonics like many cars have that tell you with your 6" from something, 3", etc. much more exact.

In the music world it seems that high fidelity would mean pure, exact digital replication... vinyl technology would have been the opposite with old tech to write/read it.

That's what the little yellow icon means. A type of official account. Tesla accounts have little red icons, to identify employees.

There's an xkcd for that:

Tesla Cybertruck Autopark release this weekend for Cybertruck ten_thousand_2x

^-^

Not knowing stuff is the default situation, so there's no reason to make finding out or asking to find out, any more embarrassing than is it... We can make it fun instead!
