That's very strange and alarming. If you have the original email, you should be able to appeal or contest the date change without your approval. How did you originally request your hold? Was it over the phone while speaking to an actual rep, or was it through the Tesla app somewhere?
The problem is, how do I appeal this in a way that actually gets seen by corporate at Tesla? The reps try to help, but they don't seem to be very competent on this issue.

They said they changed the policy and could also extend my hold another 2 weeks and that's it. He also said he will kick this up to corporate and a supervisor was supposed to call me today. No surprise, but no one has called.
You do realize the person you are chatting with at the service center is an 18 year old high school student working part time who makes up stuff just to please customers right? Does the purchase agreement that you signed say anything about putting the order on hold?

Excellent point. So why do I have an official email from Tesla confirming that my order is on hold until November 2024?

And your point is? We’re not talking about failure to pick up the vehicle we’re talking about charging a fee for early access and then not providing early access. I paid $1,000 for something Tesla didn’t deliver.
you said that's the receipt for what you paid. So you have your CT or not?
Still waiting for the paragraph in the contract about an early access fee.
I spoke to a Tesla rep today and confirmed that this rumor is true. I have an order on hold, not to game the system, but to wait for a cash deposit coming from someone who has agreed to buy a collector car from me that I had intended to sell to pay for my Foundation Series Cyberbeast. My order originally stated “October or later this year’, and that is the timeline I was working with. My order hold is due to expire at the end of the year, but I only need it to last for another week or two from today. It’s wrong for Tesla to tell you that your hold is good until a certain date and then change the date and say “buy now or else”.

That being said, I also asked the rep if I paid the amount in full through the Tesla app if I receive a VIN, but wouldn’t be able to pick up the vehicle in the 3 day deadline that we are now given at some delivery centers. He told me that it makes no difference. I’d still lose the $1000 deposit and my place in line. He couldn’t even make it clear that I’d get my $120K payment back, which was shocking.
Definitely do not make the final payment until you are on site and look at your truck

Maybe take the issue to X (Twitter) and see who replies? You never know. It seems that's the only way that the Tesla big whigs ever take notice of customer issues these days.

I think we should keep this thread open in the interest of showing that the old adage of “
People with more money than sense” is true. ?
Actually the whine babies that thought they were gaming the system to jump in line right after the FS have little money. That's why they are so triggered. They want to save $20k but they cannot accept they have to walk away from their $1k FS deposit to do so.

Done and done. I made a public post. I sent a personal message to Wes. I am also connected to some of the regional managers on LinkedIn and sent them a message too.

So far, all is quiet, no response. I’ll post an update here if any developments.

Of course! I was only being hypothetical to see what the rep would say.

The issue that @CybertruckCovers and I have is completely different.

This issue is about Tesla making unauthorized changes to hold dates for some customers who are not able to take delivery earlier than what was originally stated on the estimated ETA. Many of us are actually buying the Foundation Series models and not "trying to jump the line" to get at the non-Foundation Series models. In my case, I have $56K in the bank and a $65K wire transfer from a recent car sale pending. This allows me to pay cash for a Cyberbeast without an auto loan, so I definitely have the money. I'm just not pleased to hear that Tesla can arbitrarily move the goal posts and tell me, "No, you can't wait a few more weeks to put your payment together. You now have only a few days. If you don't buy in a few days, we will steal your deposit, and you'll lose your place in line for a Foundation Series, even though we still have hundreds left in inventory and are making plenty more for the rest of the year".

Try looking back through the thread, already posted. There doesn’t need to be a paragraph my order agreement lists “early access fee” for which I paid $1,000 and didn’t get early access. Why are you so concerned about this when you’re happy with your purchase? Maybe consider a hobby.

There is zero inventory. None. Not a single one. That's why when the Pacific Union Railyard Auto Distribution Center in Mira Loma Jurupa Valley "loses" your car you are SOL. After waiting a month for them to find your car only to be told it's gone you will have to wait another month for Tesla to build you another one.

I was just told today by a Tesla rep that the wait time for a VIN is about 2 days.

I could not agree more.

Here's a detailed sequence of events in case you find it helpful:

1) I received a VIN 3rd week of August for my Cyberbeast. VIN #252xx

2) I called and said "hey, I need a bit more time" and asked them what the policy was. They told me that a customer can put the order on hold for 6 months at a time. I told them that I didn't want to miss out on the Foundation Series and to just put my order on hold until November 1, 2024.

3) I confirmed that my order was on hold on the Tesla App.

4) In a few days, I received a confirmation email stating that my order was placed on hold until September 7, 2024. Wrong date.

5) I contacted them via the app to let them know that this wasn't what we talked about and that I had requested and confirmed November, not September. They agreed and texted back say "It has been updated to be on hold until November 7th." I have a copy of this text.

6) Sure enough, that same night, I received an email from Tesla with my order number attached stating that my order was placed on hold until November 7, 2024.

7) Out of the blue today, 9/12, I receive notification on the Tesla app that I have a VIN number assigned. What's interested is the VIN is #254xx. As I mentioned before, 2 weeks ago, all the the delivered Cybertrucks ranged 29k to 31k. Very bizarre.

8) I called them. They said they changed the policy and could also extend my hold another 2 weeks and that's it. He also said he will kick this up to corporate and a supervisor was supposed to call me today. No surprise, but no one has called.

I have been trying to find an active email address for Tesla so that I can write a letter to corporate myself, but all of my emails have bounced back. If you know of any active Tesla email addresses, do let me know please.

TLDR version:
The entire sequence of events is very unusual, but yes, I have proof of the text message exchange on the Tesla app with the exact day of the hold AND I have an email from Tesla as proof. Despite all of this they are giving me a hard time.
What phone number are you using? I can't find a number that I can get a person to talk to me.
