I just noticed another set of floor mats under my rubber mats. The bottom side of the extra floor mats is some sort of velcro like carpet and the top is rubberized. Do these extra floor mats actually need to be there?

As a general rule, you shouldn't stack multiple sets of floor mats because it increases the chances of obstructing operation of the vehicle if things shift. Best to just decide which of the 2 options you want to use and remove/store the 2nd set.

I use the carpet ones up front and the all weather in the back. Has been working well for us.

I have a Beast and installed the carpet mats. After a few months I've found the ease of cleaning the carpet mats to be substantially easier. Using nothing more than a microfiber towel and dragging the dirt and particles towards the door opening is ridiculously easy. I use the rubber mats to catch the AC condensation under the truck which puddles in my garage causing a slip and fall hazard. The truck drops a lot of water sometimes and those mats hold all of it.

I am kindly torn between the two different mats. I like the ones with the lips, but I like the carpet under my feet. What is one to do?
