I never tried WD40 but Windex worked perfectly for fingerprints. I watched a lot of videos because I wanted to see actual vehicles or CT's wrapped.
I bought 4 cans of Sprayway Glass Cleaner at Home Depot for under $10, it's going to last me a couple of years. It works great on fingerprints, doesn't strip the stainless steel's passivation layer and doesn't contain ammonia.

I would avoid Windex if it has ammonia in it when less reactive cleaners work so easy/well.

Agreed. Sprayway is far superior in my opinion and the ammonia in the Windex is probably no bueno. I also bought that 4 pack from Home Depot. But I don’t think it will last years. I already went through a can and a half, but I also use it on the whole truck

FYI

I used standard Windex (Home Depot as well. ha). Worked great. Zero issues before I wrapped it!

Great savings. Yeah I’ve read stay away from ammonia windex
