Looks good. With the Tonneau cover closed it adds support to the back, but I’m also thinking/hoping the seats are strong enough to not have to rely on that. Not sure I’ll leave this in place daily or just when going to sit somewhere and watch something.

Just wondered if they would work that way or MUST be connected to function.

Does the material on the tailgate pad feel like it would cause any rubbing damage to your wrap over time if you left the pad in place due to vibrations from driving?

Yes, they are ok. My only wonder is how strong the side mesh is. I have to think there must be a weight capacity or the seats are much stronger than they look. I do like the feel with them on the litigate and feet hanging off the edge.

That is definitely a concern and I’m contemplating weather our not I leave it on. I think in time I’ll take it off but additionally, to just reapply the wrap to the litigate will not be too costly. Couple hours and roughly $200 I’d imagine

I bought the seats and tried them without the tailgate (as I don't like the tailgate hanging out), They don't stay put. I also tried some adhesive hooks from Amazon, didn't got much help unfortunately. Had to sell the seats on Ebay finally.

This is for bikes BTW. The seats are just an accessory for the bike pad. It’s not a pad for seats.

It would be nice if Tesla sold just the piece that goes inside the tailgate that the jump seats attach to with a couple of straps to hold it in place so the jump seats could be used without the BUP (Big Ugly Pad)

That's what id like also. I did sit my stadium seats on the tailgate and the work pretty good. It'd be nice to have a way to mount them though.

I store mine on my molle racks on either side, the seat clips fit nicely in those and they hang there, but to use them, I would like to have some sort of attachment clips on the tailgate. I will figure something out, just haven't had time to dink with it yet.

That’s a very good idea using the molle racks for hangers. I haven’t purchased them yet, but they’re on the top of my list of things to purchase. Thanks for the great idea.

Actually it’s a tailgate pad it protects the tailgate from things that may hang over or on top of the lift/tailgate. The seats have G Hooks specifically for the tailgate pad so they stay in place and can mount in place on the lift gate.

You would actually have to know how the seats work with the tailgate pad in the first place to understand. Maybe you should look more into it then comment.

I’m not sure where to begin with the comedy of your logic. I own several trucks and on order of 40 bicycles. I am extremely versed in what is a “tailgate pad”. They are used to transport bicycles. Some have added features such as the CT version. These jumpseats aren’t a Tesla invention. Another company has a similar product. If you want to believe that you spent $500 to “protect your tailgate” go for it. When you realize you’ve been walking around naked be sure to let us know!
