Audio volume reset to low every time a door opened since day 1, and it won't resume after door closed. I have to turn it up every time. It's kinda annoying. My old MX will lower the volume and resume when open and close doors.

Is it just me or all like this?

update: The problem was gone for a while then came back again.

Same here, I think it's a feature.

It's definitely appreciated by my Significant Other, who has decidedly different tastes in music than I

I love this feature on all our Tesla. But I thought the volume resumed when the door was shut again? Maybe I'm just turning it back up with the scroll wheel on the steering wheel without thinking about it?

When the door is opened, the volume is set very low. Once closed, it returns to "default volume", a modest listening level. If your usual volume is close to that, you may not notice.

Next time you're about to exit the vehicle, make the volume loud. It will drop to low as you exit, and will be at the default volume when you return.

Didn't work for me. Can't change the default volume.

If you want it louder you just scroll the steering wheel scroll button up with your thumb. Easy-peasy.

I like it. Tesla can't please everyone, but they can make it easy to make it work for you.

I just noticed it was fixed, probably in a recent OTA update.

I am having the same problem-Really annoyed my audio level volume does not return to my previous listening level once the doors are closed. It stays on the low level open door volume so I have to raise it every time!

I took my Cybertruck in to the service center today and they said “The sound for the audio is the current characteristic of the vehicle.” ?

I refuse to believe this is correct. I’m on 2024.26.11.

Definitely a feature; has been around on other models for a year or so now.

I own a 2023 Model Y and a 2019 Model X, both of which do not exhibit this behavior. I just tried the test of opening and closing a door while listening to music to confirm that they both resume the normal listening level when you shut your doors.

The Cybertruck is the only model I own that does not resume your audio level once all the doors are closed, and I keep having to raise the volume level every single time I get into my vehicle or my kids get in and out. This really needs to be fixed if Tesla is listening!

Confirmed STILLl not fixed in 2024.33.15.

This is not a feature. It is half of a feature, otherwise known as a bug. The volume drops when the door opens. This is a feature. The volume does not return to the previous level once the door is shut. This is a bug. In all other Teslas I've owned, the feature works. Only the Cybertruck has this bug.

I just tested with my CT and M3, and you're right. The M3 returns to the previous volume while the CT remains at the same lowered level. Though, I would be more willing to say that the volume returning to previous levels after open/shut is probably less desired than the other way around.

It may be under some circumstances, but I mostly drive alone, so when I get in my truck to drive somewhere the volume is always way too low to hear when I resume my audio book. In no other vehicle does the volume have to be turned up upon every use of the vehicle. It gets old quickly.
