Finally got my truck today! I love it, but the pickup was not the best. First, I was not given a choice of SC locations. I had to go an extra 50 miles from the SC nearest to me. Quite a trip!. Second the truck finish looked like poop - Streaks and large discolored spots. They spent about 5 min with me showing the differences between the CT and my 3P. Then I was on my way. For a business to sell an $80,000 truck that looked like that is ridiculous. If I hadn't waited 4 1/2 years and driven an extra 50 miles I would have refused to take delivery. Just shameful.

Yep. Service/Delivery centers vary wildly; Tesla really does need to get a handle on consistency.

Some are delivering these trucks less than adequately cleaned up.

Congratulations on your new CT!

I didn't have a choice on which SC location to pick mine up either.

Congrats! Don’t worry about the dirty metal it ultimately will clean up just fine. Just be happy you spent 40k less than my nearly identical truck. You are the smart one my friend.

When did you try to change locations? Before the scheduling delivery appointment notification? After?

Curious cause when I asked about my non-commit date over a week ago, the guy also let me know it was going to a different delivery location than I expected. He put in a ticket requesting a different delivery location. Haven’t received delivery appointment notification yet, but I’m ? it’ll be at my preferred location.

There’s value there though. It’s not a real $40k after you subtract the options and the early delivery (unless you literally just got it).

Yes there is but.. The truck is cool enough that it doesn’t really need beast mode. Reminds me how g wagons don’t really need to be AMGs to be awesome. And FSD is either transferable now or they are honoring 7k which is super annoying. So I literally could have spent 40k less and been just as happy and I only got it in early September.

They would have to give lifetime supercharging or free range extender for me to not feel dumb right now.

You complain in every single thread.

You chose beast mode and the FS. Saying the AWD is nearly identical to the beast ignores the additional speed and HP. The AWD is slow (for a Tesla). If acceleration wasn't important, you shouldn't have got a beast.

Right I know the complaining is a bit out of control. Forgive me. Those are helpful thoughts you have. I should probably test drive an AWD sometime to convince myself of the Beast’s merits. I’m coming from driving a M3P for the past 6yrs so slow for a Tesla could have very well been annoying and something else for me to complain about ?

The AWD is slower than my MY with acceleration boost.

It's a truck and I have an Model S, so it's not a big deal, but noticeably slow, especially at speed.

Driven a couple DM CTs and it's noticeably slower than an M3P, but IMO that's not important. It's a truck. For a truck, it's pretty quick and good enough for me. I was on the fence about getting a CB, but I couldn't justify the $16.5k (20k-3.5k for the AT wheels; comparing more apples to apples). At least with a M3P, the difference was 'only' 7k and there was more than just an acceleration boost; included rims, brakes, lowered springs (in early Ps), etc. $16.5k for 1 trick just wasn't worth it.

you gotta just move on man and cut your losses if you think getting the FS Beast is a loss. You can’t change the past. And complaining about it here aint helping.
