yea the left side will draw its self in, right side makes no noise. It’s not quite a slam to shut it, gentle and the error on screen says it’s not fully closed, just has to shut it like a normal gate for the error not to come up. I don’t like closing it that hard feel like I’m breaking something when it’s not auto drawing in.
No air suspension issue as of late. I feel confident my air suspension is a solid build.
It was linear at first then once it hit 94% range it started flatlining, maybe 60k - Now it seems I'm really having a hard time pushing degradation further down. 10c/kwh is because we live in the Ohio Valley aka 'hydro electric' region, and electricity has always been cheap here. Lot's of Teslas around - no surprise lol.

Best tip I ever received was a hundred dollars taking a dude to the airport. He was quiet - just kept smiling and looking around at the inside of the truck. It's little things like that which makes doing Lyft so freaken' rewarding - I get to share this thing with so many excited people who have always wanted to just see one, and now they get to ride in one.

100k miles mostly doing Lyft in this sucker — one of the first 10k VIN. Here's what's happened skipping the b.s. (its going to sound pessimistic at first but keep reading).
The Goodyear A/T tires were replaced at 40k (truck was hydroplaning bad on the road at that point, which seemed to happen almost exactly at 40k)
- Replaced tires with Michelin Defender Platinum LTX. Awesome tires, still going strong at 60k (a little slip here and there, no hydroplaning) — $2,500
Battery pack degraded to show currently 299 miles at full charge capacity
- I can drive approx 7 1/2 hours of Lyft with it
- I go home and charge everyday full capacity for $12 @ 10c/kWh
- I spend $350/month in electricity driving and has saved me so much money. I've averaged 4c/kWh @ 400 Wh/mi
PCS Rev E replaced with Rev F for $7,200 at 60k miles. Tesla shows no mercy when you're outside your warranty — literally — none
Suspension makes a clunk-clunk noise if I dive the nose of the truck in an uneven parking lot, and though it was fixed when I first bought the truck, it has since returned
Tonneau cover leaks, always has, and didn't know I could get the seal replaced under the basic warranty — live and learn (LAL)
Wireless charger heats the phone — didn't know they make a replacement to keep your phone cool. Could've asked for it during the warranty — again, LAL
Truck was rear-ended hit and run by a minivan at approx 30k miles — minivan looked like a smashed cigar into the ground. Truck has no dents but the panel is apparently glued on so flaps around until I get it fixed. Bumper was also cracked and pushed in but is apparently a $500 part to replace. I'll wait until I don't do Lyft anymore lol
Truck makes a funny whimpering noise like my refrigerator sometimes does when stationary until I slightly turn the wheel (probably normal)
FSD — I couldn't do this job the way I do without it — has been so helpful, not perfect, but
- I fatigue after 7 and a half hours of driving, so I try and stick to simple interstate stretches
- People don't always have numbers on their mailboxes or houses, so I just let it take me there and park for me in the driveway
- Rarely (especially when fatigued) I can't make sense of some roads or turns, so on it comes
Doppler radar and weather helps give customers weather-related data especially if they're anxious about the sky turning dark
Acceleration, and the 180 degree lock-to-lock steering wheel has saved my ass from A) several wrecks and B) precious time
The sound system is better than the MYP I previously owned, and my Tesla MYP sounded freaken incredible
I have a 3, 6, and 8yo. They all fit very well in the back even with car seats of various shapes and sizes, better than the MYP
Riders often compliment the room, the panoramic roof, and the 'smooth ride' (pretty sure that's mostly the driver though)
I thought I would hate driving it through downtown Nashville for its size alone, but damn does it turn and handle well
I don't favor the rear-view camera — can't gauge speed demon distances barreling down I-24. I use the side-view mirrors A LOT

I can fit my entire 30-06 rifle in the frunk. The built-in cooler in the truck bed melts ice way too fast, but I store non-battery tools I want quick access to if need-be

Truck bed is ridiculously functional and spacious
- Can fit a wicker loveseat sideways for the kids to watch fireworks
- Built-in bed light is used all the time
- Side foot steps help get cargo out the side of the truck bed
- I bought (limited to 2) jump seats from Tesla and a third from eBay for all 3 kiddos to fit in the back tailgate when they need to eat and relax on outdoor trips and are very comfortable.. wish I could reverse them so they could lounge with their feet towards the bed
Towed a working floating bass boat with working motor I scored for $250 effortlessly, but range sucked rocking somewhere around 800 Wh/mi. Can't imagine the range on a little EV car
Handled the ice and snow with those tires @ approx 80k at the time like a champ
- Slid a time or two
- Felt like a hi-tech viking or something helping the ladies not fall on their asses into the truck
Took the truck from Nashville to Bangor, Maine back in Thanksgiving of ’24 (was going through a divorce, so I went to visit my brother up there)
- 12 supercharger stops totaling 8 hours charging time LOL
- Nothing like being in an electric truck in the middle of a cold November snowstorm with no service
- Dropped 10 inches in 40 minutes — had to use rear locker differentials to get myself unstuck from the back of my brother’s house
- Snow collected in the half-inch of recessed lightbar space - scattered the light, couldn't seem more than 10-15 feet of visibility
- Drove the truck in the middle of the woods to hunt for deer. Didn’t kill anything, but what an experience that was adjusting the truck to full extract mode (so much damn fun, and the whiskey when we got back didn’t hurt my feelings either)
- Got some pretty funny looks from the Maynards
- Battery pack wasn’t as available due to the cold, so I had to supercharge at Bangor a few extra times
Washing the truck is easy with Dawn detergent diluted with water and a green scrub pad. I pre-treat rust/stains with Bar Keepers Friend once a year. Still turns heads
The button to get out of the truck started to wear approx 30k miles ago — passengers have to press the release button twice now to get out, sometimes 3 times but is probably because I open the door from the driver's seat with the same button
40% of passengers don't know how to get out with that button without me pressing it, 30% figure it out eventually, and 30% handle with ease
Grok is so freaken helpful when

Crossbars are helpful for transporting the kayak but take a hit on range by approx 10%
