nobody needs to test drive ICE trucks-now, Cybertruck test/demo drive has begun and so will the fascination & thrill of SbW. So far, I have never come across anybody even talking about the absence of stalk in Cybertruck. Let's go Tesla!

Agree: stalks suck! I took advantage of a Cybertruck demo drive Monday 8/12. Steer-by-wire and no stalks, a big thank you Tesla engineering teams! Time for 2024Q3 or Q4 revenue push by Tesla opening up non-Foundation orders. Please!

I think they'll have this market cornered for years. there will definitely be people out there willing to shell out 100k+ for beasts long after the FS run ends

Uh...That is going to SUCK. Imagine every truck on the road looking exactly like the truck I am driving?
The attraction and success of the truck will not be the vanity of having one of a few. It has to catch on. I don’t see F150 drivers complaining about the ubiquitous nature of their vehicle on the road.

I read this to say it was the best selling VEHICLE, not truck over a hundred grand. Am I wrong?
Here is the answer from ChatGPT:
Here are the approximate sales numbers for the top-selling vehicles in the U.S. in July 2024:

1. **Ford F-Series**: Around 67,000 units sold.
2. **Chevrolet Silverado**: Approximately 47,000 units sold.
3. **Toyota RAV4**: Roughly 44,000 units sold.
4. **Tesla Model Y**: Estimated at around 43,000 units sold.
5. **Honda CR-V**: About 35,000 units sold.

These numbers reflect the continued dominance of these models in their respective categories, with the Ford F-Series leading the overall market [oai_citation:2,2024 US Auto Sales Figures – By Brand (Brand Rankings) | GCBC](https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2024-us-auto-sales-figures-by-brand-brand-rankings/) [oai_citation:1,July 2024 20 Top Car Sales Analysis | Total, Avg Sales & 6-Month Trend](https://www.v3cars.com/news/top-selling-cars-6-month-car-sale-analysis-july-2024).

as a long time investor, I wish/want Tesla to push FS as far as possible. I am an early CT reservation holder but want/wait for a smaller CT.

Wait, I thought the problem was that the Cybertruck draws undue attention! Now we learn the REAL problem is it's going to look too normal? o_O

If it's not one thing, it's another! The only thing that never changes is it's always a problem.

This Detroit News article is reflective of just how fearful legacy interests are of Cybertruck. They are still in the denial phase.

"The Cybertruck is more like a status symbol and less like a traditional work truck"

"After a while those reservations will be taken care of"

"It's a novelty, the people that want a truck to do truck stuff are probably not buying that thing"

There will be some very surprised auto industry people when Cybertruck sales keep growing. This is the good thing about all the fake negativity, it's going to blow people's minds just how well it sells in 2026-2027. Legacy auto cannot make a truck this good for a price people can afford and Tesla is just going to keep figuring out clever ways to increase factory throughput and reduce costs, without compromising on all the things that make the Cybertruck so much better than the competition.

It’s only been a couple weeks for me but never seen any haters or anything like that, though they keep getting mentioned in various forums like this and articles. I’m sure there are some people hate the looks of it but most normal people who aren’t assholes would just keep that opinion to themselves right?

They are rare in Louisiana so I get a lot of curious people asking about it and taking pictures.

The one thing that really amazes me are the people who have never even heard of it and have no idea what the cybertruck is. It hasn’t been a small number of people either. That’s a good reminder that the internet isn’t the real world, and also that maybe Tesla should consider some traditional advertising.

Yep. You are in Louisiana and the article is quoting people from Detroit. The hate is mostly fear. Detroit is ground zero of legacy auto.

Love my CT but do figure they are making too many too fast likely. Lower pricing should sell some more but overall I think it'll start to remain a lower volume vehicle.

Not too normal, but all the same, no matter what it looks like. Also, It is just humor.
