For everyone waiting in the Northeast (and other areas) for their Cybertruck delivery, my suggestion is don't pay any money in your Tesla app until after it's confirmed your vehicle is sitting in the local Tesla Service Center parking lot.Does anyone have new info here?
Due to the current massive delays with rail yards in Texas (and other areas), paying in advance could result in you having to make car payments on a vehicle loan that has not been delivered. All VIN's are assigned when trucks are loaded onto rail cars, so if your vehicle is stuck in Texas and not moving, it could take 4-8 weeks, or longer, before it gets delivered to your local Tesla service center.
I've been told directly by Tesla that "hundreds of Tesla vehicles" bound for the Northeast cannot move through the rail system because other car manufacturer vehicles are not selling, and their vehicles are being stored in railroad cars ahead of Tesla vehicles, thus causing our trucks (and all other Tesla vehicles) to sit idle in railroad cars. You'll just have to wait until the truck arrives at your local Tesla service center.
