60A breaker in right/2nd position is for my Tesla HPWC. The visible 2 black cables at bottom of panel send 150a to the house. Also large wire on left is neutral from this main panel to house sub panel. Incoming 150a from grid is top of service panel.
My attempt to install a 50a generator inlet plug and use my Cybertruck as power source for my house (2002) unfortunately wasn't successful. As soon as I activate outlets from Cybertruck, its 240v outlet trips. Near zero loads (<20A) from my house.
Generator inlet is wired correctly: neutral...
@Tesstudio please consider adding 8mm solar input to support off-grid charging. Then I would purchase this battery to support multi-day trips where the only way to recharge is solar. TIA
Back in 2021-ish the Model Y with FSD was $70k. Now...my 2026 Model Y was around $2k less than my 2023 Model Y, and both $20k less than a few years ago.
Cybertruck pricing at 65k / 75k / 90k would look similar to the downward trajectory of Model Y prices. And very likely mirror the upward...
Agree. I keep side-eyeing Rubicons as I need a vehicle I can tow light loads (whitewater raft + gear) to remote/rural locations (north of Stanley, ID, bottom of Grand Canyon at Diamond Creek Beach, etc.). Scout is a necessary bridge until chargers are ubiquitous in the boonies. Who knows when...
Hey be careful about pollution entering your house with vehicle exhaust pipes pointing towards living space versus outdoors. Oh wait...
Another benefit of EVs!
We are lucky to have @Kneubuehl (here and on X) and @Man_Cave_Mike on X. They lead the 2025 Telluride trip and numerous other Colorado trips. Follow them on X for trips/meetups.
Once I get AT tires I will be on trips.
@Coolhandz those tires need to go places this summer....like https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/cybertruck-poser-rock-imogene-pass.48756/
@PungoteagueDave agree. Towing and rural to remote travel are not easy at this time with EV. Short-term I see a place for Scout-type vehicles with liquid fuel feeding electric motors. Trains do it!
@PungoteagueDave interesting your F350 (2020) diesel saw a 50% range reduction when towing. Quite the reduction driving your 2021 F-150 Powerboost (hybrid): "24 MPG empty - but when towing the boat it got 4.5 MPG". Not surprising in a way: efficient propulsion suffers more with an...
Serious questions:
1. What range did your diesel 250/350 truck get without load, and with this load?
2. Why would one expect a basically half-ton truck to safely tow such a load?
That boat has "needs F250/ Chevy 2500" for towing written all over it!
