  1. So I just got a call from Tesla...

Smart man! I'm doing the same. As an aside, I leased a Toyota Avalon once and when the 3 year lease was up, they wouldn't let me buy it and charged for every fly speck on it. I bought another new one. Learned my lesson about leasing!
  2. Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so AFTER WE GET THE 8000 TON CASTING MACHINE RUNNING!

Compressed paper of course! Really, that white dash looks gawd awful! A Model 3 "wood" version or even a blackened SS would be better. Honestly, almost ANYTHING would be better than the whitish paper, even black vinyl. ANYTHING except white paper!
  3. First Cybertruck Deliveries by End of 2021 - Says Musk on Q3 Earnings Call

Think: if there is a #1 and a #500,000 in Hawaii or Alaska, do you think they are going to make two deliveries based on "first in line"? Guarantee you #700,000 in San Antonio is going to see theirs long before #1 in Alaska or Hawaii. I saw this on one of the groupie youtube programs, and they...
  4. First Cybertruck Deliveries by End of 2021 - Says Musk on Q3 Earnings Call

I ordered mine way back when it was 7k. Don't mess with the reservation I understand because you lose your better pricing. It is considered a new order if you do.
  5. Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so AFTER WE GET THE 8000 TON CASTING MACHINE RUNNING!

Yep! As long as it will fit in my garage and parking spaces. For what it is worth, Elon first said 5% smaller, then he said 3% smaller, then he said same size, then I heard somewhere one inch narrower and 6 inches shorter, so it is anybody's guess. Guess we'll have to wait "a month or so" to...
  6. Chinese quality concerns.

If they didn't bungle it, they probably stole our formula.
  7. Chinese quality concerns.

Some things are hard to bungle, even for the Chinese. Could it be what's under it?
  8. Cybertruck incentives.

The way I understand deliveries, you could still be first in line depending on where you live. I'm in the 70,000+ range and live in Arkansas, not TOO far from Austin. Would be glad to pick it up in Austin if that is an option. Who knows?
  9. Justify the cost to own

In my opinion you are way over analyzing. If you want the Cybertruck order what you can afford and start seriously saving in the meantime. I'm a retired doctor but I'm driving a 1993 Dodge beater truck after my Chrysler 300 C Hemi blew. I'm saving out the wazoo. Couldn't justify the extra 20k...
  10. Chinese quality concerns.

They are all made in China, American or not. Tesla is an American Company with American standards too. That is little comfort when it comes to all the shoddy stuff that comes out of China, like toxic gypsum wallboard, Cadmium laced paint for children's toys, Melamine tainted dog food responsible...
  11. First Cybertruck Deliveries by End of 2021 - Says Musk on Q3 Earnings Call

From what I have read, it doesn't matter where in line you are, whether 70,000 +/- or 700,000. Deliveries will start in batches based on proximity to Austin and progress based on where you fall in the radius. If #1 is in Maine or Alaska, they could be last to get theirs. Forget Hawaii, they'll...
  12. Updated CyberTruck to be shown in a month or so AFTER WE GET THE 8000 TON CASTING MACHINE RUNNING!

Yes. I'll stretch my garage to fit. Either that or make sure outdoors is big enough!
  13. Chinese quality concerns.

True, which proves my point. Apple had to replace my new 27" iMac even after their standard replacement period. The one I received initially was a lemon, with hardware problems cropping up starting on day 3. It was all documented. They sent me a new one. Already had to replace iPhones too due to...
  14. Cybertruck incentives.

I was thinking more along the lines of EVs in general, and of course, there haven't been a million Cybertruck orders placed yet. I was referring to federal tax incentives.
  15. Metal roof rather than glass on the Cybertruck

Nah, it's Armor Glass just like the rest of the vehicle. What could possibly go wrong?
  16. Cybertruck incentives.

I don't know how the incentives work or if there are any anticipated for Cybertruck purchasers. Does anybody know? They certainly would be welcome, but with my luck they would have been phased out, and then reinstated after my purchase! LOL!
  17. Chinese quality concerns.

Electronics are the biggest worry. I have yet to purchase any Made in China electronics that were anything but a POS. They were either DOA or soon thereafter. Only one particular gun purchase is known to have exceptional quality, and of course it isn't electronic. Even my iPhones had to be...
  18. Chinese quality concerns.

I HOPE none of my Cybertruck will be built in China. Chinese quality with only one notable exception has been rather poor, especially with electronics. My iPhone had to be replaced twice, and my newest model once so far. The history of tainted goods exported from China to the USA is...
  19. FSD will get $2k price increase 10/29

I assume the $7,000 price for FSD listed at the time of pre-purchase will be honored?
