this used to say dual motor with full self driving........
now blank, im concerned.
Unless they are updating the page to show all the available options soon....one can hope right?
Here is the biggest issue with Tesla. Lack of marketing. They have gained their market share mostly from word of mouth, but if you ask most people if they heard of the cybertruck they would look at you funny.
Ask people if they know what an F150 is, and they nod.
Ford has come out both barrels...
Not to throw cold water on all these patent excitement threads, but bear in mind a patent does not mean that's what will be on the truck. It's ideas that may or may not make it into the production model. there are millions of patents that never make it past the drawing stage and into the real world.
It's about as accurate as a crystal ball. in other words a toss a dart at a board guess.
There are way too many variables we do not know to make any kind of accurate prediction.
Ever hear of this car called the Prius? Toyota leads the world in hybrid tech. It would not be a difficult jump to pure electric for them .
I would say that out of all the legacy automakers, Toyota could be a serious contender for Tesla they have longevity in battery tech in cars.
My question is, what is the cover made out of? That grey flap that covers the ramp when the tailgate is in the upright position. Does not appear to be SS, i hope it's not plastic because that would break eventually or under a heavy load/use. Not to mention tire marks!
The only time we have seen the receiver is when it was at the Petersen museum (pic below) I am thinking this will not be standard equipment but will be optional like on other teslas. Based on the pic it appears there is a removable panel in the plastic which would indicate to me it's not...
not to rain on the parade, but it's highly unlikely this was made at the Texas plant. Most likely it was the Berlin plant.
They don't have electricity at the Texas plant hooked up yet, nor could they at this point of the construction phase. I suppose you could use generators, but that would be...
the biggest question i have is....what is it DOING there? I can see (at least not at this point in the construction of the plant) why it would even be inside the building, not to mention on the third floor.
There will be model Y production from Giga Texas this year? maybe. CT? definitely not
why do i say that, lets look at two pieces of evidence.
1. Model Y production lines are figured out, the bugs worked out and they know what it takes to make them (equipment wise). So it's easier to replicate...
there are actually 2 of them (the other is not visible in this pic, but you can see them in the pic from when it was at Giga Texas).
My best guess is 5th wheel attachment point.
Total side note on this pic.....anyone notice they covered the SS with moving blankets before Franz threw the ball at it? Does not exactly scream tough lol
